A seedling of acer Palmatum ‘mikawa yatsubusa’

So I bought and planted this maple 3 years ago and it self seeded. The next year the seedling grew and it is still here now. It looks completely identical to the parent tree. Even it’s growth rate. Only about 3 in a year. Was I just lucky that a seed from a cultivared specimen looks the same as the actual cultivar? Or could I be more encouraged to grow more cultivared trees from seed and expect that at least 1 seedling will look identical to its parent? I know that the seedling can no longer be called ‘mikawa yatsubusa’ since it is not a clone.
