Question about backsplash to left of sink

My question is how to redo the backsplash that is to the left of the sink. The tile installer cut off the left side of light switch face plate because it doesn’t line up exactly with the counter top. The light switch face plate has a raw edge. It doesn’t look that great and I don’t think it’s a good long term solution. I am thinking of having the electrician move the light switch lower to match the height of the other light switches in the kitchen. Unfortunately, the light switch can’t be moved any closer to the right because it’s between support studs on both sides. Would it look ok to have the tile go past the end of the counter top by 1 or 2 inches so the light switch face plate doesn’t need to be cut. Any other suggestions on how to do a backsplash for this area. Thanks
