Prickles, love your photo of Blue Girl with Jude! Lovely! I bought a Blue Girl this spring. As I know many lavender blooms can fry in hot sun [and we have plenty of that in Texas] I planted mine behind my horse barn, where it gets afternoon shade starting about 2pm. At first, it grew tall, not as leafy as most of my roses, but had a few great blooms. It has been mulched and watered well but I haven't fertilized it yet. Now I notice that it is putting on lots of fresh topgrowth. Think I read somewhere that when roses started putting on new growth, they were making roots. Think I am going to give it some light fertilizer and see what happens. I think mine looks like it wants to grow tall - its not going to be a short bushy rose. As long as its healthy and gives me those lovely blooms, I will be happy. I am also growing some other lavenders, these are just bands from Vintage, like Nimbus, Lavender Princess, Lilac Dawn, St-Expury, Poisiden, Pacific Blue, Royal Airforce. These aren't large enough to produce many blooms, but have had a few small ones and they look nice. I think its probably personal preference regarding growth habits of roses........I will plant a lower growing rose, probably a floribunda, in front of Blue Girl to cover her long legs and let her be a background rose. juddgirl2 - I have been on vacation and am now seeing this thread. Now I am traumatized by just reading it! Try putting a freshly cut apple in your sons desk drawers. Leave them inside for a few days. This little trick was giving to us by a car dealer to remove odors from cars. My daughters cat urinated on her back seat. We removed the seat cover and shampooed it, but the smell was still slightly detected. The apple worked, although my daughter forgot about it and it attracted fruit flies! segbrown - If you have the stomach, read my story about our outdoor grill. Beware...it is heart wrenching, but the grill lives on, even though it took several hose and dishwasher cleanings to be presentable for me to cook on. ow! Marie, that hurts just to read it. After too much viewing, I am sure I do not want either stark white or a painted top I do like a wood top see what I mean by the leaf side looking funny/incomplete on some? but again, not the stark white bottom. So more like this But in a clearer, more playful color tone like these pieces. Somewhere light blue to green to soft gray And the more tables I look at, the more lucky I feel that the lines on mine are so lovely. I prefer mine to any of those above, especially because of the detailing and the unique oval size. Price was nice too, since the whole set was way less than just one chair on these sites. Good to get the vision clearer. Better not screw this up, cause I don't think I'd ever find another set like it!

I went to see the footstool, but it was a total bait and switch!! I called up the seller in the afternoon, she wouldn't make a deal saying how it was in excellent condition and worth over $100 in an antique store. When I go there she shows me three different footstools none of them anything like the above. When I asked where that one was--with the pink background and the queen anne style legs, she said she didn't know what pic was posted in the ad as her son posted it. She tried to sell me her "Chinese style, solid mahogany" footstools, but the workmanship was very amateurish and the embroidery looked like it was pinned on. I'm really PO'ed about it--a big waste of time--but since I was in her house, I just said I'd pass and left. On the positive side, at least it was not eBay "not as advertized" to deal with. Bet they would look just perfect with those eBay Bergere chairs.
