Hardwood is both Red and White Oak. Now what?

Just a few hours ago I posted about best finishes to keep things natural on my white oak floors. However, as the rest of the house has been sanded, it turns out the old flooring is a mix of both red and white oak (which apparently was common 80 years ago). We're sanding away a gunstock stain, which I'm in no rush to redo. What finish will make them look the most blended? Do we have to go dark?
