Need Help with color choices for first time home!
Comments (4)Congratulations! Good luck in your new home. Are your cabinets made of wood? What type of finish is on them? Assuming you stain the cabinets a wood color, greens look great with wood. There are lots of greens to choose from. From your pictures, at this point, any color will coordinate. What are the colors of your furnishings or what do you intend to purchase? There are 1000s of paint colors so it is much easier to select a paint color to coordinate with furnishings rather than selecting furnishing to go with paint. If you have to paint 1st, at least look at furniture to get an idea of a plan or direction...I digress...Start by looking at greens with wood tones. Even though green is a cool color, many greens give a warm feeling (that goes for blues too) Wishing you a brightly colored day, Mary...See MoreHelp we need advice on our ew build house colours.
Comments (11)What about this arrangement? : use the lighter tone on the left side of the house where the siding will be under either a roof or a deck, the darker sage tone for all the rest of the house including the sides and rear. Garage doors, the wood tone and the beams stained to match...See MorePaint help- first home and need a paint colour I love!
Comments (4)I “liked” deco’s opinion on gray, as I think gray, in general, has lived its life for now. You seem to get a good amount of natural light in the space, but I don’t think you should paint the third wall another color. You have the brick wall for accent. With your beige furniture and the light, I am going with a gray, in spite of my comments. In particular, B.M. Stonington Gray would work well in the space. When you choose draperies, have the fabric the same color as the beige furniture. It will be a nice connect with the Stonington gray walls. Also, run the rod across the window as well. I would hang the rod as high as. possible. The stack back fabric on either side will frame the space beautifully....See MoreHelp! We just purchased our first home and I need ideas.
Comments (11)I agree for the most part Sushupup. We want to do the floors before we move in though since thatll be easier with out all the furniture. everything else we plan on waiting a little while. The house is definitely livable the way it is, we're only doing cosmetic upgrades. I was just trying to have a general idea of what I wanted to do. I'm the kind of person that likes a good plan lol. You guys have made me reconsidered the floors. When I look through different stores my eyes always go to floors similar to the one I posted though. I appreciate all your ideas though....See Moregroveraxle
