Need Help with color choices for first time home!

Hello everyone. I am a first time home buyer and I need some advice on color choices for my first house! I would like to stain my kitchen cabinets a wood color. I will be leaving the tiles as is for now. Any ideas on what colors to choose for the walls and cabinets? I love warm color tones. I am also thinking about what I should do with the countertops. I want granite but can't afford that right now so what are some alternatives? Any advise would be greatly appreciated. sidenote: I dispise all white. lol

Are your cabinets made of wood? What type of finish is on them?

Assuming you stain the cabinets a wood color, greens look great with wood. There are lots of greens to choose from. From your pictures, at this point, any color will coordinate. What are the colors of your furnishings or what do you intend to purchase? There are 1000s of paint colors so it is much easier to select a paint color to coordinate with furnishings rather than selecting furnishing to go with paint. If you have to paint 1st, at least look at furniture to get an idea of a plan or direction...I digress...Start by looking at greens with wood tones. Even though green is a cool color, many greens give a warm feeling (that goes for blues too)

I think a rusty red would be pretty. It might make the room look a little smaller. Another choice might be an olive or sage type green that wouldn't clash with the yellow.

i'm sorry. no, we have the brick picked out. i'm just wondering about the siding that goes on our dormers, etc. that house that i found in the above pic is about 20 minutes from where we are building, but it's the only house that i can find that has both white siding, white front porch, almond windows, and almond trim. i'm thinking now that i may stick with the almond trim that will go along with the windows, but then add an off white (possibly BM lancaster whitewash or something) as the front porch and siding color. that wouldn't be so STARK and stick out so much. i do love the black. i think it just looks so classic and of course, it looks wonderful with our roof color. our contractor said today that they are going to start bricking tomorrow. so, i'll be able to have a pic of the house with the actual brick on it, instead of some that i've applied from another home. thank you all so SO much for your opinions and comments. i need them! since i'm now a stay at home mom. . . .all my buddies still teach school, so i sit here and think about all these crazy decisions and drive myself insane! my sweet hubby says he doesn't care. as long as we stay in budget. . . .so he's not the greatest help!

I feel alright about the fireplace room and the dining area, but the space to the right of the kitchen feels off. For reference, the fireplace "living" (not counting the dining area) is 17.5 ft x 12 ft.

Thank you Mary for your suggestions. I think the green would look great in the kitchen but I don't know about painting the whole house green. I am looking for a color palette that would complement each other. I plan to stain the cabinets with either a cherry or mahogany wood color.

It really depends on what your vision is...If you pick your main inspiration color 1st then you can compliment it ... Do you have Ideabooks created on houzz? Do searches. Experiment with the terms You should start saving pics of rooms and colors you like. Don't study them at this point; just collect them. You should see a consistent theme of some time once you have quite a few pics in your collections.
