Dianne, I have quartz (not Caesarstone, they were out of my choice at the time) in my bathroom; looks new 2 years later. Online, you will find many cons or negatives about most any product you are considering buying. I wouldn't let that hinder you, as that's usually the minority. Caesarstone has a warranty. I will be buying either London Grey or Organic White in the next two weeks for my kitchen reno, but I love real marble. This is a happy compromise. Check with the company you are buying and ask if they've had any issues with Caesarstone. I asked the appliance company about Thermador vs. Viking and they gave me their opinion based on what they service the least. Good luck!

HI joshua123, The kitchen tile is from Pratt & Larson. It is a custom waterjet mosaic piece in marble. The color is a dark grey with a lot of variation. the exact color is bardiglio. the white boarder and interior boarded are snow white marble. kathy and Micah at pratt & lason were extremely helpful finding exactly what I wanted for our kitchen. I'll have to post a couple more pictures from a sunny day, as the ones I have posted dont really reflect the real colors. as far as style and mosaics being dated or not, I'm a firm believer that you should go with what you love and what speaks to you. you are going to be living in the house and walking into that kitchen every day. I dont think our kitchen mosaic looks dated at all, but I'm also not a designer. I can tell you it makes me happy when I walk in to make my morning coffee in that room. I did consider using more of that tile to cover the entire backspace area from the cooktop to the hood, as diana illustrated in some of her photos, to really give it a more modern look, but it was too expensive to justify in this house.

HI, this is helpful thanks. I just went this past week to the Caesarstone showroom and came home with a handful of sample pieces. But I also went to Silestone and found some there I liked even better. I liked Caesarstone for many colour choices that don't have huge swoopy veining in them. I'm a fan of more subtle veining and colouring. I admire those big patterny veins, and I think they look great if you have a slab on a large island, but when it is on perimeter cabinets the veining so often trails off a side or just makes it hard to match at seams. A less pronounced pattern seems easier to work with and live with in my opinion. I am planning a dark blue kitchen island with white shaker perimeter. So far, our top choice is Silestone Eternal Serena. It is light grey in colour with subtle white veining. It is lovely and something you may want to consider with your Charcoal blue choice. I think it looks great with the dark blue colours and will work well with white too.

Here is our kitchen (not finished yet but getting there along with the rest of the house. We have White Dove cabinets, White Dove ceilings and LG Rafini Quartz countertops with a workstation sink. Dolomite herringbone backsplash. This room used to be a bedroom with a sliding door in it. We wanted a Quartz that didn’t look like the white with grey or brown vein running through it. The Rafini is abit different and warm. We have just bought the engineered hardwood floor and will install it in a few weeks. We haven’t bought the chairs yet Not until we have the floor down, we had to change the floor because we couldn’t get the one we had designed around.
