Frosty Carrina or London Grey
Comments (22)I'll tell you that I just got quotes from 2 fabricators for "typical" or builder's grade granite, Bianco Antico granite, and silestone quartz Alpina White and the quartz was A LOT more expensive. For 37 sq foot of countertop: One place: Typical Granite: $2,390 Bianco Antico: $2,700 Silestone Alpina White: $3,775 Another place: Builder's Grade Granite: $1,502 Silestone Alpina White: $3,238 One of the fabricators told me the reason my Silestone choice was so high was because the color I picked was only available in a Jumbo Slab, which was more quartz than I needed, but he had to buy the whole thing. Quartz is available in regular and jumbo slabs and some colors may only be offered in one size, not both. So, I think I will be going to look at granite slabs the next free day I have. Good luck with finding your choices!...See MoreQuartz that "looks like" Carrara Marble
Comments (13)Hello Germain Wong, We're so glad to hear that you are considering Cambria Quartz for your current project. We'd be happy to offer some thoughts regarding the Cambria designs you are considering. Swanbridge, Brittanicca, and Ella are all great choices. We think the best way to decide on your final selection is to see slabs in person, or to order samples that you can compare against other material samples for your kitchen. To find a dealer near you who could show you full size slabs of the designs you are interested in, please visit the Dealer Locator Tool on our website. Typing in your zipcode will reveal a full list of partners who could assist you. For samples, you can order 12x12 and 3x3 tiles on our online shop here. Samples are always complimentary, we simply ask that our guests cover the cost of shipping and handling. Although Ella looks more similar to carrera marble, it is not a stark white. For a crisp, snow white, we recommend Brittanicca. Swanbridge is beautiful (attached is a photos of the design used in Wit & Delight's studio,) but it too is a bit more off-white than the others you have mentioned. Any other questions? Comments (44)I think there's enough contrast between those grays in the 1st pic, but really depends on the look you are going for and what your backsplash, paint, and hardware will look like. Any ideas about those? I actually really love the Frosty Carrina. I did not consider it until late in the game because I thought it was a little bland based on the sample, but when I saw the full slab, I changed my mind....See MoreFound! Comments (31)@kpyeatt - I decided to go to Floor & Decor based upon your photos above. I wanted to purchase some tile for one of my fireplaces. FYI - I had never been inside the store before - kinda overwhelming with all the beautiful tile choices on display! The Sahara Carrara tile looks NOTHING like what you have installed in your bathroom! Hardly any variation - and it looks very different from my bianco Carrara tiles. The bianco Carrara is actually from Italy - so, I expected to see a difference - but I didn’t expect the composition actual stone to look as DRAMATICALLY different as it does. The Sahara Carrara had more of a translucent look to it + it kinda looked a bit “sparkly” (not sure how to accurately describe it!) You either got “lucky“ with the batch of tiles you received - OR - I am just “unlucky” based upon the ones available at the store! Maybe the quality has declined over the past three years since others in this thread (including the OP) decided to buy it - who knows??!!? It would be interesting to see photos posted by others who have installed it. Just thought I’d post this in case anyone decides to order some online, and have them shipped without actually seeing the product first. I highly suggest that you order several samples in order to get an accurate feel for how it will look. It’s unfortunate because the price was good - and, based upon your photos, I had high expectations. 😞...See Morepamela928
