How can i open my bathroom window without neighbours seeing me?
Comments (30)You're right, everyone IS watching you. Just to be sure, this forum has a volunteer committee that takes note of where you live and sends a team to stand in your yard and look in all your windows. :) In reality, most likely none of your neighbors cares one whit what you do in your house. Normal people are busy with their own lives. Besides, during the daytime, if you keep your lights off inside and stay away from the window, it's almost impossible to see you from outside anyway. Stand halfway across the yard and try to look in a window, and you'll see what I mean. It's another story at night, of course. But there's no sunshine at night, so you don't need to open your window then....See MoreIKEA cabinet - how can I make it look less like Ikea?
Comments (22)Not knowing the sq. footage of your space, it's hard to push you in that direction... my tile is just those three walls (can't see the the third) - as the sink is set into that space and stands alone. I think all said and done it was $400 for tile and labor - but the guy just came in to do this job. You'll be bidding out for more tile than just this.... so labor wise, it probably won't add much to your overall labor cost. I purchased at a local tile store - but was just in Lowes last night and they have some really pretty glass accents (like the one I used) -- if that's your thing. It just added a little extra interest. The wall where my towel holder is (to the left of the sink) was just full of water drip stains. You can't get them out. It was either re-paint every couple years or tile. As for your sink choice - I truly believe it comes down to the look you want to achieve. The all white cabinet, with white subway tiles and accent tiles would look pretty awesome. I can't imagine that the fiberboard is any less durable than the pine.......See MoreXpost from bathrooms - how width of bathroom makeup vanity
Comments (3)I think it will look fine either way....if it is lower, you have a dedicated/defined area as your makeup vanity. If it is the same height, that space may or may not be used as a vanity and will just become part of the overall sink area. Only you can decide which will work better for you. A counter-height stool COULD look a little strange in your bathroom and is not the norm, but if you like it that's all that matters....See MoreHow to update brown/beige tile bathrooms without re-tiling on a budget
Comments (4)The second bathroom with white vanity is already leaning in farmhouse direction. The first bathroom, maybe bring in another light fixture over vanity (I can’t really tell what is there now, too much glare in photo). Plus it looks like mirror or mirrors will be installed, so you can bring some more of your style in there. If you wanted lighter walls in that bathroom, maybe something like Benjamin Moore”s Ballet White or Swiss Coffee. You can try some samples. I like BM’s Natura line. You could also consider painting walls in that bathroom a light pastel blue. Other than that, both are very nice bathrooms as they are. Maybe accept them for that....See MoreDebbi Washburn
