Please help w/ plant ideas to go w/ sunflowers
Comments (9)You could plant a mixed variety of annual Sunflowers. They range from a few feet and good for cutting, to over 10 feet. In my "Tall" bed, I'm growing a patch of annual sunflowers on one end, perennials in the rest. Mammoth grey stripe will go in back because it grows about 8-12 feet tall and in front I'm planting shorter varieties of Sunflowers, a mix of yellow, lemon yellow, and rusty colors that grow 5-6 feet. The critters absolutely go nuts over annual Sunflowers - the bees love them, and many species of birds, chipmunks, squirrels, etc feast off the seeds for several weeks when they're ripe. It was fun to watch! You could look into Tithonia (Mexican sunflower), also an annual, grows about 5-6 feet, has more attractive foliage, and mixes well with annual Sunflowers. Tithonia is often grown in butterfly gardens because it's a premier nectar plant....See MoreKitchen paint help PLEASE - I'm tired of buying sample quarts!
Comments (32)Well, the trip to my friend's house was enlightening. She has a pale, creamy yellow from Lowe's, Churchill Hotel Hazy Yellow. I was expecting the cabinet to blend too much up against it, but it really didn't. It didn't POP like it would against a green, but it didn't look bad either...I kinda liked it. I think her cream seems a bit too light, I would prefer something a bit more gold, but I think the color in general is a possibility. I didn't think my backsplash tiles would work with the yellow either, but they looked quite nice too. The yellow made the blues and greens in the tile pop more which could be nice for using those colors as accents in window treatments, etc. Lastly, was the floor tile (Yes, my friend thinks I am nuts for lugging all my samples over to house, but she's a brutally honest person so I trust her opinion). She has natural maple wood floors and my tile is almost the same tone as her wood...kinda funny. We decided the tile looked fine. If the walls were any more yellow, the floor might look a little dingy, but I think I would be ok if I stay with a creamy, yellow/gold. Also, the same friend has a pretty olive green in her family room. So, she hunted down the paint and guess what it was...Nantucket Gray! Funny bc even she thought the Nan. Gray was much more brown in my house. I guess it's all about lighting. So, where does this leave me? I think I am going to sample a few creamy yellows in my space just to see. Just like the Nantucket Gray looked so different in our homes, so could the yellows. I have not ruled out the idea of a green bc I do think it could look awesome if I wasn't so color-challenged. You have all given me so many great colors to sample. As Amysrq said I should pick a couple sample colors that scare me and one of them just might be it. Thanks again. I promise to post once I decide and absolutely once the kitchen is done!...See MoreAt wits end!! Please help w/ 1st floor layout plan -pic heavy
Comments (49)See, I'd just tell my DH that he could enjoy the sunrise while he's doing the laundry rather than while he's making coffee! ;) I kind of like the look of latest rendition, but I'm not loving the function. Leaving the laundry in the MBR would kill it for me. I know you don't mind it, but I can't imagine that it wouldn't be a sticking point for some potential buyer down the road. It would be for me. The issue raised earlier about kids having to come in the parents' room to do their laundry as they got older would be even stickier with the addition of another bedroom--i.e., room for a second kid with laundry needs. Could your stackable W/D fit in that closet area in the mudroom? Also, how will you use this desk? Will it become your home office space? If not, it seems like it would become a clutter magnet, ruining that nice view. I still prefer the rendition above where you reuse your sink and five-panel door. I think it makes the space far more useful in a house where useful space is at a premium....See Moregoing to court over back CS after 15+ years!
Comments (19)I have never heard of a "call-in" to a proceeding. If they gave you a phone number on the notice, the first step I would take is call it Monday morning, and ask if you are allowed to file a statement. If you get lucky, the person will indicate what to file, where to file, etc. At a minium, I would put togethor a brief summary of situaiton. 1. Amount ordered (ex. 200 per month for 12 years, total of 24,000) 2. Amount paid (400) 3. Amount still owed. (20,000) End with a statement that you are also requesting interest, penalties for the late payments to the extent the court allows. sign, it, get it notarized and send it in. Make certain to have any and all contact informatin for you, if you cant or dont want to take calls at work, give cell, but try to give a daytime number, give email and home address. If you have a copy of the original order, I would send it in (copy, not original). If you live near where order was issued, and can do so, if you dont have copy, see if you can go to courthouse and get. I dont know if it pays to get attorney (sounds like this guy avoids paying, may be money down the drain). Always assume that the court personnel are overworked, lots of cases, and dont have time to call other states and get paperwork, so if you can send copies it will help....See MoreJanice Jones
