kswl, the only new main character we enjoyed watching was Rey. amylou, I had heard about it too. I was so ready for the movie to end (bathroom break, please!) it didn't phase me. DH and I decided Lea looked great (who hasn't heard about her weight loss before filming) but basically botox face during her moments. Barely any facial movement/expressions. Did not know Domhnall Gleeson was in the movie - loved him in (and the movie) About Time. Enjoyed his bits. We also like Adam Driver, but didn't enjoy his role as much as we hoped.

So cute! I won't see the movie in the theatres so I'll probably get to see it next summer maybe when it is available for rental.

We went to view the movie last week, and enjoyed it very much. Funny though, even with no advanced knowledge of the story line, I keep predicting lines and small sequences that are going to happen right before they do (when Luke is handed the light saber, for example--don't know how I knew that). But at least it was kept to a minimum, unlike The Force Awakens. TFA bored me with the predictability, but I did enjoy it more on a second viewing when that element is no longer in play. Looking forward to hearing various impressions of some of the scenes after more have had the opportunity to see the movie! We used to go see movies on Christmas Eve, also. It was a nice way to unwind. But with more guests than when it was just a family day, I'm too busy prepping for the next day's meals to do that any more.

Thank you! Here's a trick you can play on a friend/relative. Buy a belated birthday card and mail it to the lucky recipient; but, send it early so it arrives several days before the birthday.
