Fireplace surround / mantel - basement - which to go with?

Hi,

I will have a 72" electric built-in fireplace in my basement w/ a big TV above (because we love big TVs).

I'm debating about what to use for the fireplace wall and mantel.

The cabinets in the wet bar area will be a dark charcoal stain (shaker). The counters will be some type of marble-look quartz (possibly carrara). [Note I am leaning towards the new brass/gold hardware here!).

The bathroom shower walls will have porcelain carrara-look tile (12x24) with a dark grey tile floor. Charcoal grey painted vanity w/ carrara marble top.

Floors are just a dark oak-look LVT (Choice Oak from HD/Lifeproof).

Options:

  • grey porcelain tile that matches the shower floor/niche (F&D Uptown Anthracite) with stained wood mantel (to match cabinets?) or painted white??
  • marble-looking tile (smaller format rectangles, ~3x12) with stained wood mantel
  • Other?

I do not know what I will do behind the TV yet - may just be paint.

Thoughts or better ideas?

Also looking for paint suggestions - entire area is open (approx 1400 sq ft). Revere Pewter upstairs but may want more grey than greige????

Thanks!
