Sears blue credit card, being replaced by a master card?
Comments (3)I had a Sears card many years ago, didn't use it. A year ago last Fall, I bought a freezer and to get an additional discount + sale price, signed up for and put the freezer on a new card that day (they said the old card no longer valid). I was surprised to find myself with another MasterCard, not a Sears card. Paid the bill in full when it arrived, and just before the holidays a few weeks ago I called and asked them to cancel the card, I kept getting mailings, offers, and there was very little chance I would ever use the card. I have one for business, one household, and one I keep in my desk for online orders, booking reservations, more than enough. They argued slightly, then agreed to cancel the card for me....See MoreAnyone have an Amazon Rewards credit card?
Comments (15)Alisande, I know. I don't care, but DH does. This is the credit card company that allowed an old canceled card to be used and the purchases were put on our new card! They are the ones who canceled the old card in the first place because of "suspicious activity". So it's cancel the card or keep it and maybe get more fraudulent charges? I don't know. I think I'd rather have a lowered credit score instead of having to deal with getting charges removed off my account....See MoreOne more credit card question
Comments (19)We had a disappointing experience with Amex. It was charged with the purchase of a very expensive large TV from an internet store in Italy! The card is rarely used and had not been used for a year or so when the charge was allowed through. It should have been flagged immediately and blocked but it was not. It appeared on our bill. We notified them immediately and requested it be removed immediately. And why exactly did it happen in the first place. They did not agree to remove it immediately. They had to do an investigation! A purchase for a TV in Italy delivered to a place in Italy! That made no sense at all. It took a month or so to finally get them to remove it. I mean the TV had to be delivered somewhere! Follow the TV! It really soured us to Amex. Their employee agreed it should have never made it to our account....See MoreCredit Card Stolen En Route
Comments (48)Thanks, sushipup. I have a neighbor who is keen on this stuff. I have or used to have lots of: Liberty dimes -- no idea where they are. Life's calamities and so on Buffalo nickels -- in the 1960s I kept them with a boyfriend who --- well, my bad. Lost to me now. He was a really fine fellow. Wheat pennies, gray or lead (Pb) pennies Silver dollars - just two, one marred. I wish the gov would mint a few more. It will probably take me five hour or more to look through the coins. I may find a liberty dime or 6 wheat pennies. If I found and sold them, I bet I'd be lucky to net a dollar (paper(. Isnt it amazing what we accumulate and how quickly just three decades or more zip past? Would many of us to do things differently or all over again in a completely different way? I would if I had the benefit of hindsight and maturity at a very young age sure why not? (I am voice typing so excuse the goofs). Darkening skies and it's only a little after 1 PM. I am in the Northeast and this unstable tropical weather because of the aberrant jetstream is very hard to cope with after two months. I need to have a few yard sales, clean things out, part with the items, paint the house, do yardwork, go to a few flea markets, visit friends, but in this every day soggy tropical unstable weather with a chance of lightning I am not getting a lot done. How about you guys? Does this weather seems just too crazy and annoying? I saw today that they are having floods in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. So sad that people are having their lives in their homes in jeopardy. And in California, it is just heartache to see people so distraught and losing their homes and livelihoods. It is like a stab to my heart....See MoreOutsidePlaying
