please help decorate my living room
Comments (19)Very nice changes!! At this time -- try moving the old clock and the old painting (both are really lovely pieces BTW!!) to another room. For the size of the room -- perhaps keep to a more modern vibe to work with the furnishings and TV. Then consider finding a round dark-framed mirror to hang above the fireplace -- just to add another visual shape there. For the big blank wall at the end of the room -- hang a grid of your own personal photos. Re-do the photos in small black-and-white sizes -- and then add much larger mats ((so that the photos look small in the mat -- very fresh and modern look)) and matching dark frames. You could even add a couple of longer shelves so you could lean some of the photos against the wall. Skip a coffee table -- and just have tables for each seating option. For additional color -- try hanging curtains on the window(s). Get longer ones -- and a thicker curtain rod. Hang the curtain rod as high as the top of the clock (where it sits now on the mantel)...See MorePlease help me decorate my living room and dining area
Comments (19)When it comes to hanging art, keep in mind those Velcro Command Strips. I use them to hang almost everything and they don't damage the walls. They hold a surprising amount of weight. That metal scrollwork would probably take one nail, but most artwork, unless the frames are really heavy, can be hung with the command strips. I'm not so sure the metal piece is "farmhouse." Rustic, probably. When I think farmhouse, though, I don't think of that type of piece. I think you can do better, but if you really LOVE it, then go for it! I do like the upholstered ottoman but I like yayagal's coffee table suggestion even better! It will definitely help set the farmhouse tone you want....See MoreNeed help with small, narrow living room with fireplace
Comments (24)I did read them. We were looking for a firm sofa and plan to go more cozy with the chairs. I've ordered the sofa and am now looking at these swivel chairs and either putting an ottoman with one or doing a large ottoman in the middle. https://www.wayfair.com/furniture/pdp/quincy-swivel-armchair-aflm1135.html?piid=29063498%2C31780490 https://www.wayfair.com/furniture/pdp/vineland-swivel-armchair-lfmf4554.html?piid=32246688 I think I like the first one better....See MoreHelp me decorate Dining/Living Room please
