So many great ideas! Thank you! Here is the other side of the room - the living room. The flowers will be coming off the wall - I just bought them to try them out. The reclining chair will be moving to the garage. The walls look read differently on the screen than in person.

Beautiful space. TV looks too high though. What about a subtle adding of color- blush maybe? An entry console in acrylic/chrome would be nice too.

I also found it difficult to take good pics of grey walls. The flowers might be nice around the mirror in the entryway or somewhere in the kitchen? I love mirrors and would add floor mirrors to the wall where the flowers are. they would bounce a dimmed table lamp light in the evening and add more “sparkle/depth” and on the other side of the curtains you could place something in front of your mirror, like your glass vase (I would do a tall narrow pierced grey ceramic one) and then add tall/large greens (fishtail fern leaves) . The mirror would double the effect and make it look lush. Have you thought of maybe replacing the white shade on the table with a grey patterned one? your room looks very finished and refined, have you thought about having a simple frame made for your flatscreen TV? Love your couches, coffee table and rug! The garage or basement is a nice place for the recliner. What will you put in it’s place? Your rooms are so pretty, thanks for allowing us the play in your space!

Please get your TV off the ceiling. Your chiropractor won't thank you, but your necks certainly will. Then find a console longer than the width of the TV to ground it.

Gcubed - we are on the same page! I think blush would really complement the tones here but don't want it to look too girly. My husband said no pink in the living/dining room but he did not say no blush ;). And yes, the TV needs to come down a bit. I do eventually want to add a fireplace there, but that's the last thing on my list of to do's.

Lidia - You get my aesthetic. I did think about moving the drapes (and changing the top from grommets to a pinch pleat). After thinking of all the different things I could do, I just got overwhelmed. I'll move them all to one part of the room this weekend and see how it looks.

It's funny, in the bedrooms and bathrooms I know exactly what I want. In this space, I'm having a harder time.

You’re a lucky girl, I’d LOVE a home done in a symphony of greys and styled like yours but my hubby wouldnt particularly care for it. Have you thought of a goblet pleat instead of a traditional pinch pleat? I’ll be interested to see what pattern you choose for them! Groveraxles shagreen console is gorgeous, you may want to add shagreen accents (boxes, picture frames) the stingray leather can be beautiful, elegant and offer texture and a bit of shine. I have 2 light grey snake skin wrapped occasional nesting tables (they’re small), chromed lidded porcelain spice jars (larger sized) and a very large white/grey chromed hide rug. Regretfully I’ll never use them, I should just ship them to you! You’ve done so great with your room already, it’s easy to get overwhelmed I think. Please, please enjoy the process and have fun with it!

Catherine, save your floors when you move furniture by using felt or throw rugs to slide items around.

Even if you don't need a sideboard for storage, my view is the table seems a bit close to the wall and then there is all this huge space to reach the door. Makes sense to get to the door without having to run an obstacle course but your beautiful table and chairs make such a bold statement, not having enough room around them doesn't seem fair.

Art placed on the big wall should have the table far enough away so you can actually see the art without having to look through chairs.

If you select a chandelier like the one below, you can power it from that source near the skylight and then run it parallel to the length of your table.

IMO it would be the perfect complement to the stuffing design of your table and chairs.

Thanks Beverly. I wish I could cut and paste like that. I tried doing this with paint with not much luck. I'll give paint 3D a shot - ha! Amazing how quickly you do this.

So I have a few things to play around with this weekend. 1 is to move all the drapes to the sliding doors; 2. move the table to the center of the room and 3. just move the table towards the kitchen but still facing the same way. Will post pics of them. Knowing hubby, he won't want the table in the center of the room but I will try.

Have you considered using different chairs at the heads of the table to give a little more interest/relief from the look you have now - like in Beverly's 2nd pic above? The chairs are pretty but it reminds me a bit of a banquet room at a restaurant with so many of them all lined up and all the same. An alternative or another thing (in addition to two different chairs) would be to remove one chair from each side of the table and place them against the wall (or in another room) when you aren't using them. The chairs would then have a bit of breathing room at the sides of the table, but could be moved back when you need them for seating.

Olychick - I have thought about the 2 different chairs and about moving the chairs to the wall with a console. I have so many ideas in my head and that is where I got overwhelmed trying to picture it together and just gave up. That and working full time and being the mom of kindergartner. Not enough hours in the day to go shopping and playing around with furniture placement but I am realizing now that it's a must. Otherwise, nothing will really flow together.

The chairs around the island are what we use daily. The dining table is for guests and we usually add more chairs when we entertain which is about 2 times a month. Hence all the chairs.

Thanks Everdebz for the suggestions. I'm planning on putting a console and mirror by the door. I have a few mirrors in mind. No rugs there.

I did play around with the drapes and table in the dining room. The table in the middle of the room did not work. It was too crowded and getting to the sliding doors was more work than it should be. Also, the long wall was too empty. I moved the table towards the center a bit. Will post photos in separate comments so they load.

I was thinking about moving all the drapes to behind the sofa. I gathered the drapes closer together behind the sofa to see how that would look. With a metallic pillow, it brought some life into the space. If I move it all there, I'll get some drapes for the sliding door that are all one color and complement the drapes in the living room. Would be odd having 2 different fabrics in the same space? As in different drapes in living room and dining room?

for the dining room, you definitely need art work on the wall. check out zgallerie.com they have a ton of art work and things also for the table and décor. you will find a lot of things in silver and in gold so you can combine the two colors and use them both through out the house. if you decide to leave the drapes In your dining room, I would suggest adding some color. so maybe 4 smaller vases or one long vase almost like a flower runner on your table with flowers of vibrant colors. also the lighting above the table would ideally look best if it was oblong design to cover the space of your table. I like a console table of mirror or glass- it keeps the space more open and looks bigger and clean. but you can always do a coffee table in white if you wanted to add white to part of your colors.

Thank you, Focal Point Hardware. Zgallerie is where I purchase most of the items and where I will be purchasing the mirror for my console. I won't be replacing any furniture. The only thing being changed is replacing the glass bottom shelf of the coffee table to mirror.

Photos don't show what you see: rug texture, and sheen of items - add color in curtains cause both seem behind furniture / similar place where art goes....

@Lidia I did not think about putting a mirror where the white flowers are currently - thought it may be too much mirror (a mirror by the console and mirror on that wall). Sparkle/depth is exactly what I want to add there. I've tried so many different painting and wall art and it just does not work. They were not substantial enough - does that make sense? Mirror may be just what it needs. I was also thinking of adding a tall white plant in that corner but the table lamp may block it. I could get an acrylic table lamp. In place of the recliner, I'm thinking of a barrel type chair to break up all the harsh rectangle lines. Then I saw this chair...

Love the colors but again, lines may be too harsh for the space.
