Yesterday and Today new openers
Comments (14)I'm very pleased with 75% of the seedlings I have which is a lot. One reason I have to cull this year and open up space. I know that Rose F. Kennedy,Lavender Blue Baby and Heavenly Pink Butterfly make great kids and not all are alike. They've been opening excellent with the cooler mornings and stay great all through the day. The purple/lavender tone ones are from Get Jiggy believe it or not. The lavender with the big yellowish throat is from a cross of Lighter than Air. The pink ruffled one is from a cross using Laura Nyro and the red one is from Soul On Fire x It Is Finished. I'm not sure what is happening this year. I've got daylilies which are typically blooming later in July blooming now. And ones I expected to see now, haven't opened yet. I have no idea if that is or isn't VL and no, different seller. I got VL from Northern Lights a couple of years ago. I know VL is not white and should be a pinkish color. I still have several more scapes and buds to open and if it shows like this for the rest, out it goes to the brush pile....See MoreI feel older today after working yesterday
Comments (19)Guys, sorry if I got things off topic! I just know I'm tired of hurting and I really need to get out and weed weed weed! My husband and I were out for a bit and did some more weeding, trying to get the vetch out. OMG! It's so dry! We decided to take a rest and go visit my Mom in Hospice and then I'm coming back and watering so the weeds will be easier to get out. I haven't watered since the last rain which was almost 2 weeks ago. That area up there is in full sun almost all day, and the sprinklers can't go up there because it's up-hill and the water valve closest has the least amount of pressure. So I gotta go hand-water!! And I really need to mulch up there too. I started to in the fall, and even cleared out most of the weeds, but they came back with a vengeance with all this rain we've been having! (I'm not gonna complain about the rain...)...See MoreSmile Today - 4/4
Comments (17)https://images.app.goo.gl/1H5AUEToTd2qXr4EA How do I add the picture for this joke? The one-liner is I hate it when I'm singing a song and the artist gets the words wrong. Foster the People pumped up kicks https://youtu.be/SDTZ7iX4vTQ For years I thought you"d better run faster than my bullet actually said you'd better run faster than my brother. I really loved this song because the brother was defending him. Not so much shooting a gun even though I'm sure for some reason it was deemed necessary. This is not one I listen to on pink shirt days....See MoreSmile Today - 4/28
Comments (17)I thought I'd relate this story about my cat, Thomas. It was so funny yesterday morning. I sometimes throw bread out for the birds and toss it from the back porch out to under the crabapple tree at the edge of the field. This morning I did that, and then came in the house and later looked out the window to see if the birds were eating it. I saw Thomas sniffing around until he found this big piece of bread. He sniffed it, then suddenly swatted it with his paw sending the piece of bread flying across the yard, then jumped up and ran full tilt the other way. I laughed so hard. He can be so goofy....See More- 7 years ago
