Comments (2)"Does anyone know anything about Juniperis chinensis "structa"? or juniperis scopularum "springback"?" Spellcheck for web searches: Juniperus chinensis 'Stricta' Juniperus scopulorum 'Springback' "De groots Spire aborvitae, but I am not certain if they are deer resitant" They aren't. Juniper is more resistant, but will sometimes get eaten. Resin...See Moreplants along fence line next to fruit trees
Comments (2)Roses are really competitive for food and water so I don't think that is the best combination. Plus fruit trees shouldn't be watered as often as roses. Roses are also high maintenance, you'd have to get past the trees to prune, deadhead, tie up canes if they're climbers, etc. I also planted a fruit tree hedge along a fence, I plan to keep the trees short with summer pruning and limiting water and nitrogen. I underplanted them with strawberries as a green mulch and I've put a few grapevines on the fence itself to train along the top....See MoreNeed help with shade and privacy trees along fence!
Comments (1)I bet if you post this over in the Landscaping forum - maybe with your Zip Code so they can easily look up your Zone info, you would get a much better response. They're pretty creative, and eager to make suggestions in that forum. Although they're going to want details, like your exact zone, and which direction each photo is looking, so they can figure out how the sun is going to track accross the yard......See MoreBest trees or shrubs for along fence line?
Comments (15)Hi-I'm just getting back to this now and some decisions have to be made soon! :) I've looked into all trees discussed on this tread and I am zoned in on the Thuja American Pillar, though I am having a really hard time finding them anywhere, including online (I did find 18" seedlings for sale, but that's all). My husband suggested asking a local nursery if they could bring some larger trees in from the main nursery in GA that grows them, but I'm thinking that's a long stretch. Does anyone have an input on where I could find these trees?...See Moredveluru
