Comments (12)Hi, ideamom...yup, we sure do have the same taste! :) Thanks for your kind words, never did I imagine that I'd ever build on a property like this and I guess it will seem more real when something happens like BREAKING GROUND (impatient sigh). :-p Anyway, don't feel like you have to "match" all the light fixtures in your home if you like more than one collection, I think it's part of what makes a custom home "custom" (JMHO). After my DH and I discussed lighting, we decided to use Belcaro in our entry/foyer, gallery, terminus, living and dining room. For our master suite, we are going with Bellasera. We also found another line for the kitchen, nook and great room, it's the R.A.M. Lighting Monaco Series. For the rest of the home, it's still TBD, but I think each bedroom suite will be different, as well as the wine room, game room, home theater and office. Comments (42)I read your comments as a “pro” at water damage mitigation.[...] What were the air sample results for: moisture? Bacteria? Types and quantities of various molds present? [...] Sick/dead babies, children, adults, pets, etc. are no fun. That is exactly what you get when you follow your reckless advice given at the very beginning and throughout this forum. I take the above statements as nothing more than proof positive that those who exploit misinformation for financial gain will protect their turf. There are not many areas in this country where even serious indoor mold problems approach outdoor mold problems. If you live in a place where grass grows either naturally or through irrigation systems the mold mycotoxins outside your house will probably be greater than the ones inside your house. The amount of growth medium present in your yard is exponentially greater than what is present in your home. An acre of land will contain between 300 million and 600 million blades of grass which will produce something between 120,000 and 600,000 pounds of mold growth media per year. Relatively speaking, most houses are simply an island of tranquility in a sea of mycotoxins. Take your mold measurements outside when you are doing your "pro" sales call and measure outdoor environments over a spring, summer and fall. Let's see how bad those houses are. You opened up houzz AND yourself to Huge liability on this one. I read this comment as a "pro" at liability. Where is the duty? You are trying to sell the idea that a "pro" designation creates a duty to anyone reading a thread. Find some precedent for that because there is a mountain of precedent that an overheard conversation doesn't create a precedent nor does anonymous advice. Comments (57)Please update on how the problem was handled! I have me own tale of woe and hopefully can be an example of what can happen if you move into a house that has a mold problem. My husband, my son and I moved into our brand new home in Jan 2016. Literally a month later I began having issues with what I thought could be liver (nausea, pain in my right side, my right side under rib cage felt as if it were swollen) and I went to doctors, of course there was nothing wrong with me, but then my skin went bonkers, became red, so irritated that smiling hurt! And I won't even bring up all the countless respiratory problems! I've lost appetite, lost weight, but then suddenly gained it all back plus some more. My skin problems became a daily struggle... I could go on and on! To make a long story short, we're moving out in December! I can't wait! There's black colored mold seeping through cracks in shower stall of our master bathroom and I haven't been sleeping in my bedroom because of the smell. We're foreclosing. F this noise!! We wanted this house so much and were so excited to own a brand new home not knowing how miserable it can make us! (I have allergies and was hoping a brand new house would mean clean environment for me) OP, protect your kiddos, stop this train before it derails! And I know how you feel about your son's kindergarten, it's such special time for him and you and now it's all uncertain and it causes anxiety because you want to provide stability for your child. My little boy started kindergarten too in August and we're going to transfer him to a different school once we move. I can't wait til we're out of this house! Please get an attorney involved to help you get through this nightmare without losing the battle. Seller will give Buyer at least five (5) days prior notice of the Closing Date, as well as the time and place for Closing once a firm date is established. BECAUSE OF THE UNPREDICTABLE NATURE OF HOME CONSTRUCTION, IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO ESTIMATE THE EXACT CLOSING DATE WITH ACCURACY. BUYER ACCEPTS THE UNCERTAINTY OF THE ESTIMATED CLOSING DATE AND WAIVES ALL CLAIMS AGAINST SELLER, ITS AGENTS, EMPLOYEES AND CONTRACTORS ARISING IN CONNECTION THEREWITH. Also, Seller reserves the right to postpone the Closing Date after initial notice is given with one (1) day notice of the firm Closing Date. @oliviag55 - My understanding is that if final closing inspection occurred in Jan and we close in Jan, we won't be assessed property tax on home but only on land value so homestead exemption is moot.
