Need window treatment ideas. Have pics!
Comments (23)With how nice your home looks and what appears to be a good amount of window frame depth I would, if I were you, install interior window shutters. I'm a huge fan of plantation style, but traditional shutters would look amazing as well if you prefer smaller louvers. If you prefer stock size panels you may want to check into www.shutterland.com. They have great shutters, both Traditional and Plantation. Also, they come unfinished, so that really keeps the price down. I've dealt with them quite a few times and they are a great company when in need of quality shutters. Good luck! Comments (5)If you like Romans, take a look at jcp.com. They have some double romans (I got Spencer II) so there is a sheer behind the light-filtering shade, operate independently. The cords can be a hassle (2 sets) esp. on the 72" long ones I got for my slider. But on normal windows they're OK. I really liked the "double Roman shades" they had last year (no name) for my BR, DR, and study, but they don't seem to have the same ones. The headrail was slightly different from the Spencer II. I think the last time I visited the website they might have had a new (Jackie?) roman that might have been a double too, in an ivory color that might look nice in your kitchen. HTH. Comments (15)@apple_pie_order The all white kitchens in my idea books also have wood floors which help to warm things up. Unfortunately, I was unable to talk hubby into wood floors for the kitchen so I had to go with tile which brings even more white into the mix. The furnishings are mine but the upholstered items will be recovered in a different fabric. I am not sure what to do with the furniture at this point since the furniture wood colors are so warm. I have toyed with the idea of another table and credenza but I am not sure I want the expense right now....See MoreKitchen Progress- Ideas for Bay Window/Breakfast Nook
Comments (16)I showed a photo upthread of a round drop-leaf table. If you have another dining area, I think most people looking at your room would wonder why the heck it is so important to smoosh everyone into THIS room to eat? The only table I'd have in this room is one that (a) doubles as a work surface, and (b) folds up and/or slides over easily out of the way of the cooking zone, and I'd think of it as a space for reading and having coffee, or kids having a snack after school. Maybe one kid could do hw there. A kitchen is a work room...especially a kitchen on the smaller side. Imagine having 6 (or even 4) people dining in your kitchen with that table in there now--how would the cook grab the desserts or a forgotten condiment out of the refrigerator? The aisle would be impassable, imho....See MoreJoy
