Texas Pool - Please look at my plan & specs!
Comments (6)I'm not an expert either but I noticed no decking?? Seems like it's there on the drawing but I don't see it itemized. As far as cartridge vs DE, we went with cartridge to minimize water usage and yet keep a reasonable filtration ability. A good cartridge system can come close to a DE. However, since installation we've found that a cartridge system is cumbersome to clean. Not difficult, just cumbersome. Luckily, we've only cleaned the carts 3x in the last year and that was just to do it...they never registered a change in pressure more than a pound. AND, we've also discovered that while our system is good at filtering, the cost of replacement cartridges for our system is quite high ($280 - $390 for the 2-cartridge set). Hopefully, we'll get a couple of years out of our current set. So, if you do decide to go with a cartridge system, get the specs as to how well it filters vs DE or vs sand AND find out the cost of replacement filters. Definitely get the most energy efficient pump that will still do the job! Our PB didn't and the jump in our electric bills was astounding!...See MorePool Specs - League City - Thoughts/Opinions?
Comments (5)I see you have an upgrade for the fusion soft 40K Salt System. It is mineral based with a chlorine dispenser. It is not a salt water chlorine generator. Do you want this ? http://www.poolproducts4less.com/nature-2-fusion-soft-salt-water-sanitizer-mineral-pool-system-kit-40k.aspx You will have a Jandy PDA 8 remote. It would make more sense to me if you have a salt pool to use the Jandy aqua pure control center and a jandy salt chlorine generator which will handle all of your sanitizing needs, assuming you maintain the chemicals properly. At that point, with the control center I would ditch the standard white lights with covers and maximize the potential of your remote and control center by using LED lights that will let you run a fantastic light show in your pool and spa as well as control your Polaris cleaner and water features, spa etc. Ask your builder about this stuff, he/she should know. Personally, I would ditch the ozone. Cannot imagine why you need 3 levels of sanitization? Chlorine, mineral and ozone. 2 cents....See MoreSigh..another reason to worry. Comments (6)Scott...some answers: Is the auto filler on? No Are/were there sprinklers there before? There was one head but we haven't turned them on in over a week and it wouldn't explain the pattern that the water is making in the dirt. See explanation below. If you look down the sump pipe, where is the water level? It's high. The tube extends to the depth of the pool - 8'. It looks like there's about 4' of water in there. When the landscaper looked this morning he said, "That's a lot of water." But was stumped where it might be coming from. He says to wait til PB gets here before jumping to any conclusions. What would that much water mean to you? Are the neighbors up slope to you watering the grass a lot? It could be runoff. They are very slightly upslope but the wetness only runs the entire 45' length of the pool and about 3' wide. And it bumps out around each deck jet box. It's the damndest thing. I'll take a pic tomorrow of the 'pattern' that the water is making in the dirt. **Thanks so much, Scott. I appreciate your feedback more than you know. My husband has been travelling all month (not that he's much of a pool expert anyway ;-) and it's been hard to do without his support right now so your feedback helps.*** I'll post a couple more pics tomorrow....See MorePlease help! Comments (18)You are right about the colors in the inspiration room rug pulling in all the colors of the room. Somehow I either overlooked it or didn't want to admit it. How does the saying go..."sometimes you don't see the forest because the trees are in the way"...haha... Anyway, I just fell in love with the stone medallion rug and was offered it for a great price because it was a return to a local place that makes them. It isn't the colors that I would have chosen, but I was trying to force it to work. It has no grout because it is made with a compouter controled water jet and all the pieces fit tightly together to form one big solid piece. It's really lovely, but you are right, the colors aren't the best for the design. I have changed original design a bit because I felt it was too Tuscan/Mediterranean for the house. I am using more rustic wood instead of so much cast concrete..though I am using the cast corbles that flank the radius ceiling. I wanted it to feel casual and rustic French, but with an elegant touch of "jewelry" that the crystal and possibly some glass tile accents would bring. The color swatch under the sink is such a bad representation of the vanity color! I attached a photo of a premade cabinet in a similar color and style to what I am having made. The wall color has not been determined yet. Any suggestions?! Thanks again! Your advice is really helping me see this from a different prespective. Did I mention I am a bit over my head with this project? This monster spec house has 10 bathrooms and not enough budget! I'll post some pictures as the project progresses....See MoreHU-34451196
