Wolf 36" Induction cooktop reviews
Comments (22)I absolutely love my Wolf 36" cooktop and have had no problems for the 4 years I have had it. As far as the safety lock, your manual will tell you how to turn that feature off. The controls are sensitive to your touch but it didn't take me long to get use to the correct pressure needed. I tended to push too hard, like pushing a button, but the controls need a very light touch. It didn't take me long at all to get used to the feel. The above reviewer is correct that you need a "dry" finger on the controls for them to work best but I always have a drying towel tucked in my waist or very near by to quickly take care of this. Good luck with your purchase....See MoreVentahood mystery solved (attention all VAH owners)
Comments (7)bob411, if there's a grease accumulation, I've found that WD40 is usually not the solution. WD40 is a light lubricant mixed with a penetrating solvent and it will temporarily free up binding mechanisms with old grease on them, but after a while much of the solvent evaporates and the old grease thickens again, causing the original problem to reappear. The proper solution is to wash ALL the old grease out with a solvent and then apply the correct type of fresh lubricant, if any. Exhaust vent louvers and flaps should work with no lubricant at all. Paint thinner works well for removing petroleum grease from most metals; you may need to use a small natural fiber brush, such as a disposable acid brush, to accelerate the action of the solvent. Accumulated rancid cooking grease can be removed with liberal application of Simple Green and/or household ammonia, full strength, followed by a water rinse....See MoreRecent Wolf 30" and 36" ranges - problems/like?
Comments (3)I've had the soon-to-be-discontinued open burner, all gas 30" for a week and a half, so too soon to know about problems or long range reliability. I bought now because I prefer a more open burner pattern. I roasted a turkey and made gravy the other night and held the gravy on the super teeny middle burner without any problems with burning or scorching or a hot spot. The door is definitely warm in places (particularly behind the handle area), but I had been purposely running my hand over the door wanting to see if it was really hot (I too had read about the same problems you are mentioning, and my husband thought I was nuts to do this). It certainly doesn't stay hot for an hour though. We replaced an old dual fuel Jennair with much less power than this one, and our kitchen definitely seems warmer now than before because of the venting of the Wolf's non self-cleaning oven (we had self-clean and electric oven before). But, we also don't have any ventilation hooked up yet. So far the top has cleaned up quite easily. The turkey had spattered as it roasted, and my husband wiped out the inside of the range, including taking out the side rack supports so he just had a clean swipe to do. He said it wasn't too bad cleaning it up, but he can see how keeping on top of this is the way to operate so it won't get too bad. And, LOL, this is the first time in forty years of marriage he has ever cleaned an oven! I'd try the appliances forum for more comments....See MoreNew Wolf DF
Comments (27)Austin, I am also in the market for a range. I've done quite a bit of research on different manufacturers, Wolf being the primary one as that is the duel fuel range I am going with. What I can tell you is do your research. Not only on the internet but call the manufacturer and your local authorized service provider. Obviously you are asking the hard questions to the appliance store so that goes without saying. I can tell you in all my internet research I can not find 50 people with ranges having the blue chipping issue. The ConsumerAffairs website referenced so many times has 30 total reviews several of them having nothing to do with the blue enamel. For the satisfaction of some that feel this is an issue affecting thousands of Wolf oven. maybe someone will put a poll up here with two simple questions, 1.) do you have a wolf oven with blue porcelain interior, 2.) is it chipping. A purchase date would be nice but lets not get too complicated :-) When I called Wolf they said there was a supplier issue several years ago and they have corrected that issue. I would expect that in the thousands of ranges produced, after that supplier issue was resolved, there have been isolated issues that appear to be "the same issue" but are simply due to a mistake made during production as no manufacturing process or human is perfect. Good luck with your research and whatever range you choose. Regardless of the brand, I feel certain you will have a positive experience....See More- 6 years ago
