We purchased this front-back split-level house last summer, and have gone back and forth about closing in the carport.

pros: reduce the cluttered appearance of vehicles in the driveway. Secure storage for bikes, etc. Warmer in winter (would insulate but not heat).

cons: I don’t love the appearance of a big garage stuck way out front of a house. Reduced sightlines from front door (and the front door will be swallowed up). Darker in the laundry room (white door from carport).

Question: can anybody give me advice on improving the curb appeal of this house? I was thinking about painting windows black and maybe bringing front door out to meet the rest of the house on the right, but it will be awfully flat. (The room on right is master bedroom).

More importantly - thoughts (and renderings???!!? ) of a good looking garage.
