Label and Glue Residue

last modified: 7 years ago

I have always removed labels and glue from bottles and jars by first soaking in hot soapy water to soften the label for removal followed by an application of oil and baking soda for glue.

On my last batch of bottles the labels even after repeated soaking for days, wouldn't budge. I ended up scraping with a knife, more soaking and scraping. The glue likewise had to be scraped and scrubbed.

There must be an easier way.
