The same as the rest of the siding get a white door and then start working on those steps

Before I did any painting, I'd remove and replace the steps/walkways. Those are a lawsuit waiting to happen!!

After that, I'd agree that painting the red portions the same as the body of the house is your best choice aside from repainting the whole thing. I also agree on a light colored door since it is recessed and the entry dark.

But fix those steps first!!!

Those steps can be leveled with the right tools and the right guys to do the work.

Leveled?? You can't level a poured in place concrete walkway/steps!! You can add to the grade or soil level so they are not so blatantly above grade and a tripping/falling hazard but to do so in that situation with such a small area being worked with (and a flush with current grade secondary walkway), it would be far easier and cheaper just to remove and redesign the entry access.

It's a charming house and the current paint scheme doesn't bother me at all but those steps/walkway just screams out "fix me!!" It is the very first thing you notice!

I like the paint scheme as is.

Limestone grey. Agree that the steps look awkward. Widen the landings and steps and add cheekwalls.

Nothing wrong with the steps, just that they seem as though are wonky crooked. Settled badly.

Also a place for critters to get under the house. Compared to the neighbors, your lawn appears to be missing lots of fill.

You mentioned HOA, probably you have some limits with colors.

I would either paint the shingles the same as the rest of the house, or try going just a couple of shades darker/more gray for that section, for some subtle contrast. This one is green-gray, not blues, but kind of like this effect.

Her we are with the same color and darker.

Paint the red area either the same color as the lower portion, if you can match it. If not, paint the ENTIRE house one color of your choice. Suggest keeping it a neutral color and not dark tone, tans or mid to light grays. I would also remove all of the steps in the front lawn and direct walkway to the driveway as is the one path. In that way, you could add lawn to the front and also some nice landscaping that would include shrubs. Paint the front door a brighter color like a good solid red. I would also paint the garage door the same color as the body of the house.

Re-paint the entire exterior in F&B Railings or BM Evening Sky. Or similar - any dark blue-black that works with the existing white. Then do a stained wood door.
