okay- updated my original post with more pictures from different angles.

Instead of trying to buy a cabinet to fit I would probably build custom shelves and use decorative storage containers for small items.

If you wanted a door to cover the space then call in a custom cabinet maker as you will need something special made.

I think we want to keep it open and have shelving or storage options in the table, if that makes sense. Something that goes up to counter height that we can put stuff into but we can display a piece of art on top. Like a tall side table with a drawer or something. Hard to explain my vision!

We have 12 foot ceilings, so it would look strange if we had someone enclosed that high.

What does that switch operate? Would you want a door there to hide the junk you intend to put there? Custom shelves would be easy - choose a wood to coordinate with the island waterfall. If you want a door, get one the same style/height as the one to the left of the oven. Then leave the top open or with a couple shelves (in island wood) for art. Or do glass to let the light shine through. I love your style and space!

I might consider a built in set of drawers (floating or to the floor) on the lower half with a charging station (vertical storage with plug-ins for all the electronic I see plugged in on the counter) and then the upper shelving for your art.

mnmamax3 - great ideas! Door is optional but a plus and a charging station would be ideal! Great ideas to think about! The switch is for accent light in the nook.

To the right you have cabinets doors, no room for a table. I see open shelving being your option. It would be a fairly easy DIY project.

I believe any premade piece of furniture would look makeshift in your lovely kitchen. Custom built shelving is the only way to go. I think I’d have a door built to hide the lower shelves, with the top ones being open.

Get a custom cabinet made to match the rest there is no way you will find a premade piece to fit.

I would turn that fab space into a wine rack so fast your head would spin.

Don't want the hubs stuff in a hotspot for the kitchen anyway.

Love the look, Donald- thanks! I'll have to post pictures of my library/front room tonight after work as I have reclaimed wood shelves there but didn't think to use it in my kitchen because my kitchen is more modern and sleek.

Eryn, hello! Our kids are 7 and 9, so not that small. They don't really factor into our design. :)
