quartz countertop scratch test comparisons - Cambria?
Comments (10)We're delighted to hear you've chosen Cambria! You are correct – all of our products are proudly made here in the US at our headquarters in southern Minnesota. Quartz is one of the hardest materials on earth – a 7 on the Moh hardness scale and therefore are extremely resistant to scratching and chipping. Our Newport™ design is a wonderful choice for a light and bright kitchen. To complement, we recommend a neutral-colored backsplash -- whites, greys, and even taupes would work well here.Check out Ann Sacks Tile & Stone for a variety of stunning textures and colors. Did you know you can also use our quartz as a backsplash? Our bold Brittanicca design would create an especially beautiful statement. In regards to selecting a paint for your cabinets, we have partnered with Benjamin Moore to select paint hues that are especially complementary with our countertop designs with our online paint match tool. Click here for a selection of colors best suited for use with Newport, and navigate here for a list of paint colors best suited for use with Brittanicca. Hope this helps with your design considerations....See MoreCambria vs. Other Quartz Manufacturers for Countertops
Comments (58)@SaraDixon- if you are having a person that works FOR Cambria coming, it means two things. #1- your stone was sold to you (and perhaps fabricated) by a certified Cambria dealer. and #2- you'll be in great hands. We've sold Cambria for many years and have had one maybe two small issues (a spec of wrong color in the stone). Not only were the issues handled timely (even during a holiday), each customer was thoroughly impressed and satisfied. Cambria personnel is expertly trained and stand 100% behind their product. You also have to understand that Cambria is the manufacture of material. There are other elements at play here- like the fabricator/installer/designer. I wish you the best of luck with your issue Sara! But if Cambria is coming, you don't need it. As for potential Cambria customers, you should all know that since September 2018 they now have a LIFETIME Warranty. This is a warranty that can be passed down to new homeowners if you ever sell your house and the warranty covers any sort of bill that may be inquired during the warranty process (plumber, contractor etc) You can read more about this warranty here: https://www.cambriausa.com/customer-care/warranty/ No other quartz company has a warranty like this. We have sold and do sell other quartz manufacturers, but Cambria no doubt is the best (not only because it is made in the USA, and because of their phenominal warranty) but because of what you get for the money. You'll spend more on Silestone, Zodiaq and Ceasarstone and you won't have the same color options, or even quality in some cases, for the price....See MoreTorquay Quartz Counter Top by Cambria
Comments (8)You'll just have to see how the calacatta looks with it. I have a carrara mini-brick sample and I thought it looked too white with the torquay. I was planning for torquay on the island and carrara on the backsplash, and I wonder if any of the marbles would look good if they are right up next to each torquay. I think the key might be to use a mosaic with small enough tiles that you aren't seeing the marble veining. You'll just have to try different tiles and see if any work. I'll post a link to the website with the irregular one - that's one of my favorites, too. I also really like the 2"x12" field tile with silver medley gemstones in the last picture. Those are Jeffrey Court tiles, and if you go to their website you might find something you love. They are expensive, but if you have a small space it isn't so bad. Here is a link that might be useful: Calacatta marble tile...See MoreDevastated over Cambria USA Counter Top Brittanica
Comments (39)It looks very fresh and new. You can absolutely tie them together well and it will look fabulous. I know how hard it is to have a vision in your head, and then how sad it is when what you end up with doesn't match the picture in your head. But I'd recommend trying to regain some perspective. No one has died, it's done well, and it's going to be beautiful. There is no way in heck I'd pay money to rip that out and start over. However everyone is different with money and I'm sort-of cheap. I save forever for major projects like this and I've learned one has to be willing to roll with the punches on a major reno. Stuff always takes longer, costs more, and looks a little different than what I saw in my head.......See MoreCynthia Keifer
