Color Suggestions Needed for Garage and Doors on Orange Brick House
Hello, I want to paint my parents garage door and 4 entrance doors (2 Front/2 Back) on the home.
We had them painted them Tricorn Black by Sherwin Williams about three years ago -- but my sister and I want to update them again. As they need to be repainted and we want something to pop and update the look.
We really liked the Tricorn Black at first -- but it doesn't make the house stand out -- and to be honest -- my mom isn't in love with the color.
I am now debating between green and blue. Dark Hunter Green or blue? Maybe even back to a brown.
Here is an old picture from Google Maps of my parents home before we painted the doors Black.
Our yard is pretty big and the home is back from the street. So, we are looking for something that can standout - but still be modern, bold and elegant. The house is traditional brick blend with a brown roof, dark brown colored trim and gutters.
What color(s) do you all think would really look great?

Our neighborhood is pretty much very woodsey. When my father built the home with his brothers YEARS ago it was even more trees. Most of our neighbors have cut down their tress over the years - but we haven't -- we love them.

Comments (4)I'm fine with the shutters, but wish you had ones that fit. (They're too long.) Not a fan of the dark trim idea. The landscape needs to be redone. It is boring and a touch oppressive. Comments (22)Thanks Maureen! I don't intend to paint the brick or porch. If we redo the porch in the future, we'd get a non-red color. As for the mulch, I'm definitely planning dark. Maybe a dark brown, maybe a black. I think cypress might pull too much of the red? Not sure. We also planted a row of tall white daisies all along the front of the porch to help break up the red. We were able to match the grays in person with Mastic Victorian Grey so that is what we have ordered. We will have shake style on the front gable and traditional horizontal siding on the gables on the sides and back. We need to finalize roof and shutter colors. I am about 80% sure we are going with the landmark pro moire black roof. I get what you're saying about the shutters, but there does appear to be discoloration behind them. I'm thinking board and batten style shutters in medium grey. Then I'll be looking into the trim and door painting. We are adding some colorful shrubs as well.
Any suggestions on colors -- we are still leaning towards green or blue.

5 years agoI do like "Portrait Tone," "Folkstone" and Decourus Amber" -- even a few more.
I think doing the Garage in the Dark Brown -- but the warm color for the front two doors would be great.
We also have metal security doors - which my Mom will not give up. Should we paint them the same as the door -- or paint in the trim?

5 years agoI would try to select a color that is complimentary to the orange tone of the home. Something similar to these colors in the lighter tones:
