Mirror hanging hardware

I am about to hang an inexpensive 6-pound framed mirror in my powder room. There is a sticker on the back that says not to use wire to hang it, rather to use two wall hooks. Installation would be easier if I could string a wire between the two loops on the back of the frame, requiring less precision in placing the hooks. This warning sticker seems to be universal with mirrors, based on what I have seen while shopping. I'm questioning whether the use of the wire puts that much more strain on the loops, or can I probably ignore the warning and use the wire. Opinions?
