Where's the Brugs?? Which ones do you have blooming?
Comments (14)Marian, you did? I thought you'd been growing them longer! Did you start off with cuttings or plants? All mine were cuttings. I'm jealous. I left a reply on your post about the photobucket situation. LOL, Maybe I am just being pessimistic (sp?) cuz I am impatient and want them big and blooming NOW! I only see leaf growth on mine, no upward growth. I have given them MG 2x and fish fert 1x, o and Epsom Salts 1x since I got them planted in the ground, and sunken pots..but we have had SOOO much rain that I havent been able to feed them. I already have the pests :( I am battling the slugs..every time I try something new it worked for a couple days then there'd be soo much rain that it would stop working. I went out a few nights in a row and was picking the lil tiny baby slugs off by hand, but I can't stay out there all night. Also spraying for aphids, black & green ones. No mealy bugs yet, but I'm sure they're on their way. Why not? Join the party! O Hey..I thought slugs drown?? I was throwing them into the pond to see if my KOi would eat them, and the lil b@$t@rds would sink down to the bottom, then climb up the inside wall of the pond and get out!!!!! What is THAT?!?!?! I'm thinking maybe I should put a bubble around each brug.. Just like the Boy in the Bubble, lol. I just feel like I will never see a bud let alone a bloom. My Dat buds, and my gloxinia buds all got eaten by something. So depressing. Linda, I hope mine do like yours. Thank you....See MoreWhich hosta do you have more than one of?
Comments (30)The only hosta I intentionally have more than one of is So Sweet. Others I have duplicates of: Irish Luck, because I thought the other one was dead Bridegroom, same reason. Dancing Queen, same reason. "Big Blue" because I divided it. Blue Mouse Ears because Cleo (my dog) mauled it and Blue Cadet and I couldn't determine which pieces where which hosta when I repotted them. All of the above will go in one pot when I repot this spring. Night before Christmas because my neighbor gave me hers when she moved to assisted living. I'll keep both. I'm thinking of splitting my oldest So Sweet and will keep all three. It's in about the biggest pot I can handle and it aesthetically looks like it's too big for the pot. It does not have that nice round shape anymore. It did well, though. I bought another Minuteman because it was so gorgeous I couldn't resist. I had a smaller one and a Patriot. Not sure whether I will keep all three or not. I'll wait and see how they do. I still have two Frances Williams I intended to re-home. I think I will try them one more season and see if an acidic fertilizer will help their looks. bk...See MoreA MacBook Air question
Comments (1)Pammy, I don't know if I'm reading your post right, so let me confirm I understand. You have a Mac now but want to buy a standard laptop (Windows) right? If that's correct, I think it's a wise choice since Apple products are used at your work. Of course as with anything there is a small learning curve with the touchpad but they are intuitive so its nothing too severe (I think anyways). Here is a link to a good article from the "For Dummies" book series (sorry, I hate that title!) that explains the buttons, which mimic a mouse and how to use it. How to use a touchpad and of course if you run into trouble, specific questions can always be answered here. As for the wireless mouse, I think that's an excellent idea. If I used my laptop sitting at a table or desk, I would sure use one! Brand wise you can't go wrong with Logitech...See MoreAdding RAM to MacBook 13" late 2009
Comments (4)bostonoak, It surely won't hurt to increase the Ram in your MacBook. You might notice a very Small Increase in Speed but don't expect much speed. It will make Multitasking, Video Editing, Music Editing, etc... go more smoothly. Here is a Video: Upgrading MacBook RAM. BTW, if you do decided to do this yourself please make sure to Ground yourself before opening the case. Also, don't handle the RAM on the Flat Sides (like that guy does in the Video), only touch the Edges. You could damage the RAM handling it the way he is handling it (the RAM could also damage your computer from improper handling)! Make sure when ordering your RAM that you Purchase the Correct RAM for your Model. Also make sure to check your MacBook Specs to see what amount of RAM your MacBook can handle (most likely 8GB will Max it out)! I'm not a Mac Person but I have worked on a few. I think my daughter had a 2009 MacBook Pro with about the same specs as yours. Think it's 4GB RAM, 500GB Hard Drive and either an Intel i3 or i5 at 2.2 or 2.4GHz (can't remember which)!...See Morebeaglesdoitbetter
