Look what I found in my wet vac :(

So yesterday my air conditioning stop working because of the primary drain/auxiliary drain were clogged and the "Safe-T-Switch" did its proper job. Lucky for me I have a friend that owns his own AC company, he was kind enough to help diagnose the issue. Fast forward 4 hours later and multiple wet vac extractions, I found this lovely plastic bag in my vacuum pan. I believe the AC installer left this plastic in the unit and neglected to remove it. I am just not sure where they could have gotten this bag from.

My guest bath toilet didn't drain properly after I bought this house (completely remodeled). Really, really slow draining. I couldn't clear it with a plunger, but I could get it flowing a little faster, then it would slow after a while.

Called a plumber; he took the toilet out and found a plastic grocery bag that had been left on the top of the pipe during construction to block sewer gasses. The slobs had just installed the wax ring and the toilet right over the plastic bag. Fortunately, it wasn't completely sealed off.

One of many screw-ups in this place (including a medicine cabinets mounted upside down, central air not hooked up to electricity nor Freon valve opened, gas shutoff installed wrong, carpet installed over gap where a wall was taken out and the 2x4 shoe wasn't replaced, walboarded over forced air vents, and on and on...). Oddly, the tiling is great.

That’s from a smoke detector. It could have gotten into your AC but I think it’s a red herring- you picked up the plastic elsewhere unknowingly. AC lines clog up all the time. You are ahead of most people as you now know how to fix it.

I would have thought it was from someplace the the wet vac I bought was specifically for this job. I also inspected the canister before starting the job. This is becoming a total mystery.

Yes, Susan, they were fairly chubby little fellows and I had suspected that they were ready to pupate, so was not surprised to see them gone. I have tried to find where they might have gone to pupate, but no success. I have the same problem with Black Swallowtails. They grow and become good sized and then disappear. The Gulf Fritallaries just move down the limb or over on the trellis and pupate. And they always eclose during the day when I am at work, never on the weekend or in the morning or evening when I am at home. (I think there is a plot to keep me from watching - LOL). I know that I will plant hollyhocks from now on. I love watching the cats grow and develop. Who knows, I may catch them when they move off to pupate one of these days. Ms. Faith

you would be amazed at the construction debris that gets into weird places in a house. we found beer cans in the wall and drywall screws in the sink drain trap... Also all the faucet screens had crap in them for 6 months after we moved in.

My last home had a 2 x 4 block left in the main plumbing line. Two weeks living in the home all the plumbing started backing up. Nothing like the smell of raw sewage in a new home! We ended up having to move back out. Concrete foundation with tension cables (CA) had to be dissected to get to the area. What a mess!

myexecutiveranch: Not only was the medicine cabinet upside down, but there was a white sticker with red lettering on the hanging rail that read something like 'CAUTION: This cabinet must be installed with this rail on the top and secured to blah blah blah...' Of course, it was all upside down.

That is a smoke detector cover. Don't know how old your home is..........but you wouldn't believe what goes down the open ducts in a construction site. : ( Paper cups, sawdust, rags, chunks of dried drywall mud, all KINDS of trash. Yeah........believe it.
