Deck Planter Boxes
Comments (5)When my husband put our deck on about 15yrs ago, he also built planters. They are still wonderful! Just line them with black plastic and use potting mix. This year I used the moisture control by Miracle Grow and really liked it. My boxes are about 6ft by 1 1/2 ft. If I was doing it again, I would have them a bit wider. If you want extra plants or the originals get leggy just take cuttings about 4-6 inches and pull off all but 3-4 leaves and root them in water. When roots are 2-3 inches long, pot them up in regular potting soil and put in sunny window or under lights. See my Geranium & snow post. Take railing, steel rail done with a simple detail is the least expensive compaired with ipe even with allum balusters but the steel will require a constant review to keep it from rusting. Comments (1)Love that SW raisin! The cedar on the siding stain and deck would look great as long as it is opaque enough to cover what it already in existence. The paint experts at your local SW store could recommend the right products. Good job!...See MoreVaporvac Z6-OhioRiverValley
