need home office furniture suggestion please
Comments (5)The Custom Shoppe is my selection. You can customize the dimensions, Choose the species of wood (they have cherry but no Mahagony) and have a number of different finishes. Pricepoint may be around $3000 though. Hooker just announced the closing of their last domestic production plant so the chances of you getting Hooker USA made is unlikely. Your $2500 pricepoint is primed for an import product. However If your lookin for USA made your going to pay a little bit more. However you will get what you want and the finish you want it in and the size you want it at. Also Look at Sligh furniture. They have Imported Home office of pretty good quality. Here is a link that might be useful: The Custom Shoppe...See Morelighting in our home office/living room
Comments (3)We've got a 13x16 home office with french doors and a 6' window. Lights include a ceiling fan with 4-light kit and then over one desk area we have 3 can lights and another desk area we have 2 can lights. I'm glad we have all the lighting we do. Generally we always have the center light on and if someone's working at the desk they have on their respective can lights....See MoreLighting suggestions to avoid reflection on TV in living room please
Comments (4)You might use a ceiling light whose lens is recessed behind the light's rim, reducing reflections from the side. Here are a few at Home Depot: Prime 16 in. Black Integrated LED Metal Flush Mount Note that there are some canless recessed lights that don't require a lot of vertical space in the ceiling but have a deep baffle to prevent glare (example)....See MoreI'm stupid, need color suggestions for living room light sage, browns?
Comments (6)Not stupid. Picking paint colors is always hard, and some rooms are just particularly challenging. I've seen a lot of rooms on this board, and believe me that your room qualifies as particularly challenging. Before you tackle paint, you should improve your lighting, since it can make all the difference in choosing colors. The room IS dark (look at the difference between your photos and the realtor's professionally lit photos!), and if you aren't getting light from outside, you need to compensate with more, better interior light. I don't see any floor or table lamps in your furnishings; that's one place to start. Are the foyer pendant, ceiling fan, and dining fixture the only ceiling lights in the room? Any recessed cans? I would start with brighter LEDs in all the ceiling fixtures, and maybe tweak the color temperature (though I think your problem is more that you don't have enough lumens than about color temperature). Can you address the carpet on the stairs without tackling the carpet in the upstairs? I was just looking at DIY stair carpet removal and refresh with paint. It's a lot of work. (https://www.remodelaholic.com/under-100-carpeted-stair-to-wooden-tread-makeover-diy/). I wouldn't paint the wood trim. My sympathies on your divorce. Regardless of the circumstances, the process is difficult and disruptive and expensive....See Moregroveraxle
