CONGRATULATIONS (and Deep Gratitude) to My Community!!!
Comments (22)Hi Joyful & Sparksals, Yes, I am here. For some unexplainable reason SOMETHING changed at the GardenWeb servers, and my log-in won't save.... Which means E-V-E-R-Y time I want to visit the boards, I have to deal with a laborious "Flash" presentation of some type or another before I can then scroll down and re-log in (even if I click the "save me" box.) I hadn't noticed much recently in the way of financial or economic questions & conversations (not that I thought I'd be a significant contribution to,) so I had fallen into checking every few days, as opposed to hourly (as when I am frantically juggling conversations all over the web.) Thanks for thinking of me! I definitely think of you, and fear naught, I *AM* dropping by & eyeballing the threads from time to time. Hope you're all having an awesome weekend! Comments (6)Okay, first of all I'm grateful for the good blood test results I got yesterday. My cholesterol is lower than it's ever been, and I'm so glad no one is going to try to push statin drugs on me. My glucose is out of the pre-diabetic category where it's been for a while. Now it's just inside the normal range. Triglycerides are 168--higher than the 150 cap on normal, but not bad and not nearly as bad as they were 12 years ago before I started eating low carb. Back then they were a dangerous 547. So I guess all my self-deprivation has paid off. Yay! Also, I'm grateful for Rita's post because once again she reminds me to pay my quarterly taxes. Why can't I remember these things on my own?? Thanks!...See MoreGRATITUDE New Year's Eve 2007
Comments (2)Thank you Rita. Just last night my husband and I said we're glad we're not 20 years younger. Our next door neighbor just turned 40 and told us that he has to relocate because of job changes. He has 2 young kids and is worried about saving for college and retirement. We were feeling pretty satisfied that we managed to put 3 through college, 1 has an MBA, 1 just started law school and the youngest has a job interview this week. Retirement is within our near future. I am thankful, grateful, and thrilled to be right were I am at the moment. (I could be thinner though). Happy New Year's to everyone here at the KT and their loved ones....See MoreGratitude this week
Comments (23)We drove 600 miles last week to look at a couple of places for sale....a lot of the miles for going out of the way. Glad we did tho because we can cross those 2 off the list. The one that I thought I'd like, was a big no! The pics of it on line must have been made 20 years ago. The "7 stall horse barn" was almost rusted down and had big spaces in the roof where metal panels were gone. The other place was so far off the beaten path via a very thinly graveled road, past multiple abandoned, trashed out house trailers, that it was a no! also....See Morewanda_va
