I think it's more important to find a color that goes best with the brick, if it has to be a choice. Having the cement color look like cement is fine...and not necessary to have it match as much. I would also match downspouts and soffit to the siding...I wouldn't want the downspouts standing out as if they were trim. Instead I consider them a 'necessary evil' and want them to disappear against the siding.

alishaes - have you made your decision yet? Sorry for my delayed reply, I just saw your question. I agonized over a roof decision because every roof I viewed look different than the samples I received from Certainteed. We opted for Charcoal, but upgraded to Pro....it was only an extra $700 and the warranty was much better for such short money. I could not be more happy with my choice! Even though Charcoal is the darkest option, it's not TOO black. Also, it doesn't have SO much variation that it looks super busy. I'm not home because we're living at my parents' during the renovations, but if you're still undecided I'll try to get you some pics.

Here's blue with no shutters... I gotta say, I like it with shutters. Maybe a darker grey shutter with the grey and cream color scheme. **edit: I also saw you were considering SW Alabaster for the cream color. I juuuust painted my living room this color and it reads very white, not off-white. I would consider a creamier color. Also, I would make sure to paint swatches on the trim before committing cause, like Alabaster, they may read differently than on a paint chip or online. I would look at SW Dover White and SW Antique White. My last home had SW Antique White walls and this is an accurate representation of that color (the walls not the trim) vs. other images/paint chips online:

I think you should update the home (the 60's were good, but it's time for a facelift) to more of a mid century modern vibe. there are a few ways. First, Paint. yes, paint the brick (With Romabio of course. it's meant for masonry and has almost zero upkeep. look it up. Not the lime wash one, the masonry paint. you can have it tinted to any color so, imagine if the siding was done in a dark charcoal, and the brick below painted a soft white or gray? Or you could reverse the colors another poster on here painted their brick and was looking for another color option for the siding. I'd do your window trim in a dark color. here's a before/after from another poster on here. looks good eh? painted brick, white siding, dark window trim, AND she added the wood slat on the porch area. Wood is necessary! so the other option, composite wood siding (Hardie) on the 2nd story, just like this. paint the brick oh, and more modern garage doors. that's a must I love this one. similar style home to yours. you could paint the brick white, do the composite wood siding, trim out the windows, new garage door, front door.
