A no-spray shopping list...feel free to enable!
Comments (52)Well, yesterday I went to a rose nursery and by their calculations I can fit more roses in my bed by staggering the plantings into two rows. Plus, I fell in love with a few. So I have bought and/or ordered the following: -Duchesse de Brabant (I stopped my car when I saw one while driving and found out what it was, and it was still calling my name when I found it at the nursery; I'll just have to be diligent about keeping her size checked) -Monsieur Tillier -Buff Beauty -Cl. Cramoisi Superieur -Souvenir de la Malmaison -Pink Gruss an Aachen -Belinda's Dream -free rooted rose cuttings of Crepuscule I've put a last-minute request to RU to add Rosette Delizy to my order though I don't know yet if they'll be able to get it to me or not. And I just saw on a different thread that Vintage is offering the apricot climber Mme Jules Gravereaux so that might be added in too. Ah, the joys of enabling! More colors, and roses then I anticipated! But I'm sure I'll be over the moon when they start blooming... And by the way, I believe Soleil d'Or is the notorious baller....See Moreshopping again...self-enabler
Comments (17)That him! The one in the first in the first photo! I am definitely on the hunt for his twin. Wonder if HG might get him again this year? Probably not, I imagine the company does different designs each year. Sooner or later he will make his way to eBay, everything does. LOL. Luvs, luckily my new Santa will be too big to put away in places I'll misremember (my new word for the day. LOL). He has no choice but to stand with the others on the Santa shelf after Christmas. Thank goodness for that. This year I'm following Santa's rule..."making a list and checking it twice". No wait, I'll make a lot of lists and check them 3 or 4 times. hugs, Karen...See MoreAnyone have a Anuschka handbag?
Comments (25)My sister has one and loves it - tho she uses it infrequently. She's one who changes bags a lot! She also has a good collection of them. She often gives them to me when she's tired of them if she thinks it's one I'd like and use. I've looked at the Anuschka purses on a shopping channel and like a few of them but can't bring myself to spend the $s on one. I think the most I've spent on a purse is around $50.00. one of those I recently gave to her because it's just too big for me. It's a beautiful green that I bought on a shopping channel a few yrs back. I wanted something different and green was a color I'd never had in a purse. I pulled it out recently and realized that it is just too big for me to use now with my back and hand problems, so I gave it to my sister. I have 2 clutch type purses I spent 40-50 $s on back in the 70s. one is a brown and the other is black. they're great for a small purse for a wedding or funeral but not every day use. I think my purses have always been a tan, brown or black until about a decade ago when I decided I could not stomach another tan, brown or black purse, so I bought a purple one that was on sale at Kohl's for about $20.00. About 3 yrs ago my sister gave me a smaller purple purse and I'm still using that one. I usually use the same purse for several years before I change it....See MoreIf you were going to 'invest' in a handbag ...
Comments (73)I'm cursing this thread ;) I love nice handbags - I don't wear much jewelry or buy expensive clothes, and I'm a very practical person. But handbags ARE practical! I'm fairly conservative and like very classic bags, but also love color. Shoulder bags are my favorite. I had some old-style Coach bags when I was younger, but haven't bought anything from them in years. But, I did have my eye on an eggplant bag I saw in one of their NYC stores just before Christmas. I really, really, really want a purple bag, but don't see it on their Web site. Guess that color was so last season?! Probably a good thing because if I remember, it was over my price range anyway. Mitchdesj - Love that bag!. Some reviews have said the chain makes it heavy and that the bag doesn't hold its shape. What do you think? I don't like stiff leather anyway. I've been wanting a nice tote for day trips, and just ordered this Trina Turk bag on sale: For more moderately price bags, I like Tignanello, which I buy discounted. Just picked up these two in black at TJ Maxx for about $70 each and am trying to decide which one to keep for casual wear: Awhile ago I bought my first Dooney & Bourke. This one "spoke" to me when it popped up on one of the discount sites at an incredible price. I love the plaid: What is it about handbags??...See More1929Spanish-GW
