What color wood furniture for Edgecomb Gray walls?
Comments (5)lukkiirish - Thank you for your reply! Good question. I always have a hard time defining my style. Simplified cottage? I like things clean and simple (but not too modern) - with a little touch of elegance/romance. lascatx - Ah - so I can go with a very dark wood, which will hide damage too (didn't think of that benefit - that would be very helpful with a toddler)! Great! Thanks so much for your reply! AnnieDeighnaugh - Hmmm...good point. Thank you! Here are the current desk contenders. We are on a Very limited budget (thanks to our "money pit" home), so we're looking at Ikea options that are mostly made of solid wood. (I would normally look at craigslist, but I'd like the desks to match - we need 2.) Option A: Option B: Option C: Even though we'd need to store files separately (I'm thinking of tucking a file cabinet into the closet so it's out of site, and DH is all about going as paperless as possible and scanning everything) - I think I'm leaning towards C. I love the curved legs, plus, it's half the cost of A and B. Hmmm...I think I just made a decision! C it is! Thank you!! :) (And, if I ever tire of the color, we could just paint it.) Comments (4)Love the floor! Blues would be beautiful. You could consider two-toned with a navy on the bottom to contrast the light floor and a white on top to open the space and brighten it up. Some beautiful, but very different, blues. You could also go white on the perimeter and blue on the island. Always a beautiful combo that would look great with your floors. The white would brighten it up and the island would ground it....See MoreBest wall color for gray toned wood floors?
Comments (10)Unfortunately, a gray-toned floor will hold you hostage for picking wall colors, backsplash and counter. It pretends to be a neutral, but then the reality hits after it‘s installed, that it’s not a neutral. If you still can, I’d pick a floor that is a more natural wood color. In any case, pick the wall color LAST, after you’ve chosen counters, then backsplash....See Morectmeisel
