Andrea, After speaking with Sony support this afternoon, my dad had a cyber shot and Viao computer (I now have but don't use), they suggested the links I provided to you. At a minimum it should allow access through device manager. As I suggested above you can get a USB card reader, sorry I didn't clarify for older cards as well. I appreciate the way you treat folks that try and help you. It is no wonder others now refuse to help you. I may be wrong but since you won't try what is suggested, as usual, we will never know. Try using Windows Explorer. Right click on the Start button, click Explore. Now stay on the left side and click on the C:\ drive so a list of folders drop down below this. Look down and click on Program Files and many more folders appear underneath.Look for something Sony and click that too. Now you are into the Sony program click on each folder below Sony to highlight them and look on the right side for a list of photos. Once you have located the right folder you can move to the right side of the screen and delete whatever you wish. You can view your photos from here too, as thumbnails, individually or as a slide show. When in the photos folder go to the top of the screen and click View then select Thumbnails in the drop down menu - or any other choice, you can play around here. To view full screen right click on a file in the right side and then click Preview. Now if you wish there is an icon on the bottom to click and see the lot as a slideshow. Hope that helps a bit

I'm going to take a free class from Ritz, but I don't know how to use the manual modes. After five years of never having objects in focus, I really like seeing them in focus. I could not get one good photo of my flowers from the deck with the old camera. I am able to turn off the digital zoom, but I am going to try all different ways in the future. I can see your point, the human eye can't see two things in focus like that, so it might be considered better to have it that way. But, in this photo, I can see the kitten (object) and at the same time see the flowers that I had growing at the time, in terms of photos for memory reminders. I am going to try changing the aperture fairly soon. I have just been so excited taking photos with the better camera, that I have not worried about the manual modes. Yesterday, I took a pigeon, and I should have gone into sports movement mode, because the bird was moving. I am still learning to use the icon modes at this point.

One work-around I've found for that, Marlorena, is to back up and take the shot from a further distance. The camera will likely get all items in focus, doing that. Then you can take advantage of the great resolution the camera has by cropping and enlarging that portion of the photo, so it is like a close-up. Another trick is to experiment with the plane of the shot. By slightly depressing the shutter button, the camera will show you which areas are in focus in the field of view by surrounding those with green rectangles. If you tilt the camera slightly or shift it to a slightly different view, you will often find you can bring more of a view into focus by doing that kind of adjustment.
