Help please! Exterior paint colors with brown teak doors
Hi, we are getting ready to paint the house this weekend, but cannot figure out what colors go with the doors we bought. The doors are a orangish brown teak color (see attached). can anyone please advise what colors would be complimentary for the exterior of the house and also the trim? Thank you!

5 years agoYou have a lot of options. I can see deep dark color.
The gray or the blue on these houses would look good, too.
Or a deep yellow orcher with dark gray trim and accents.

Comments (17)Bestyears, thanks for the mockup. I do know photoshop--DOH! I guess I should try that myself ;-) The blue gray that is the door is the same as the siding. So many of you like that color?? Like I said earlier, I had a couple of friends tell me they thought it was dated, so I guess that is why I was determined to go with another color. I think the taupe in the mockup makes the rock pop, but I'm not really a taupe person. I'll have to reconsider that. Finally, DO you think I need to add SHUTTERS to the bottom where the rock face is? Does it make it look out of balance to the top? I got this wild idea last night that I and my husband could make board and batten shutters--it's just 2x4s nailed together ;-) He is never going to agree to that. Comments (3)Ummm.... what parts are stucco, that 2nd triangle section from the right? I honestly think your colors look excellent as is. If you lighten that triangular piece its going to stick out like a sore thumb - do you really want that? Right now it recedes and your eye isnt drawn to it, the lovely brickwork has more prominence. I do agree however that your door area could use some attention but the red door is all you need (definitely stain it if its currently unpainted - a classier finish IMHO) . Comments (1)It may be expensive, but I think painting the stucco white would totally transform the house. Then you could paint the wood frames of the windows the same color as the steel door and it would flow very nicely. It won't be cheap, but it will be worth it. 5 years agoYou need to take into account your gray roof since a fair amount of it is showing. It could be lighter than this--maybe a much lighter shade of your roof.
Here's a grayish sage paired with cedar fence. Note the cream, not white trim.

5 years agoGreat call out on thinking about the roof color as well, was not thinking about this at all! Roof is on the lighter side of grey, but has many grey colors.
