with 3 young boys I really wanted a urinal in my house, space doesn't allow it and my husband thinks it's a terrible idea. When I dream about installing one I think of all the clean up it would save. Though my boys are being trained to clean up after themselves - I think my 89 yr old is pretty good at it but my 5 yr old and training 2 yr old are not nearly as efficient as necessary. Each night when I pull down my cellular shades I wonder again why people do not use them on doorwalls. I have a simple silk valance above the doorwall and two pleated shades that match mounted in front of the sliding glass doors below. They meet where there is millwork, so no one can even peek in between them. They disappear in the morning behind the valance. The honeycomb cells even provide a bit more insulation during these icy winter days. I can leave the bottoms open high enough for the dogs to look out without dirtying the bottom of the window coverings, or pull them down to the floor. They are inexpensive and come in standard sizes that match the sizes of the door panels and so can be changed out every few years if the color scheme changes. Tibbrix linked you to ones that come on a single header, so you would not even need a valance. It is a sleek and modern look. Someone above also showed you some Roman shades that were warm and textured. Is there a reason not to consider the use of longer window shades? It has seemed an underused option for patio door walls to me and I do not understand why it has not caught on.

"How much for this option in Pulte home (FL)?" Only way to get that info is to ask Pulte but more than likely a minimum of 1.5 what it is worth and not sure I would let a tract home window installer even think about installing one of these...........................

That’s a good point with the built in blinds. We had considered doing that, but were worried they could break over time and would not be able to be easily replaced. Now I’m wishing we would’ve just done it… One long rod across the whole wall might be a little too much considering we open the window blinds often to let the sunlight in. I’m totally fine with keeping just the blinds for the windows and putting up curtains for the sliding door. This is probably the hardest design dilemma we’ve had with the house!
