SW Latte/Kilim Bg & Accent Walls....
Comments (6)wearybuilder Yes, the Cameroon Green is a bit darker in real life than shows the posted photo, but in my opinion not dark at all. We originally painted the color about 6 years ago and liked it so just freshened it with a new coat this winter. We only have 1 window in the office and, of course, the doorway. The wood floor in the office is Brazilian Cherry and was just installed this past winter. We like it too, thanks. The Powder Room is actually wall paper. It is embossed paper and I'll NEVER hang something like it again, but yes, we like the color. The Pergola was last summers project. Glad the photos are serving you in the idea department - that's what they are intended to do. We do everything DIY here so alot of compromise is reached before projects are undertaken. Good luck with yours....See MoreSherwin Williams Kilim Beige
Comments (26)funcolors ~ I have no issue with multiple topics. I enjoy learning. sorry if my post seemed that way. I was just trying to clarify exactly what I was looking for. I miss the Martha Stewart collection ... sure wish I had that fan deck. I used one of the coordinated color cards throughout my last house. the main part of my current house was already painted a color similar to sw latte in family room, foyer, and hallways. it's a very open floor plan so I am struggling to find colors to paint the rest of the first floor that look good with latte. that's why I was sampling kilim beige to see if I should just do lighter and darker versions from the same strip. any thoughts?...See MoreSherwin Williams kilim beige or Benjamin Moore Manchester tan?
Comments (13)I would get samples. Sometimes people have reported Kilim to have band aid look. Kilim has a slight green undertone compared to my BM Shaker Beige walls (they have a red undertone). If you start comparing paint chips with other chips you'll be able to see undertones. I have another room painted Manchester Tan and it's a very nice color. A little lighter than Kilim and has a subtle green undertone, but I honestly had a hard time even seeing it until I tried to determine what it was. If you're unsure, and looking to stay away from fleshy colors, I'd pick Manchester for sure. It is slightly putty looking and a little cooler, but no flesh tones. I can take photos later if you'd like. Photos of Manchester Tan from Adventures in decorating blog look pretty accurate to real life on my monitor. Comments (6)Sorry, yes the Divine White is on the wall going up from the landing, but due to the lighting does not show much contrast against the Kilim Beige which in real life is apparent but not shocking. I was really attempting to let you see the distinction between the wall paint and the trim (which you can only see at the landing baseboard against Divine White). This trim paint is actually a Pittsburg semi-gloss latex trim paint. Paint shop recommended it because I didn't want to risk runs. It's a thicker paint and applied nicely. I've discarded the container so unable to offer more specifics. SW trim paint is good too. Personally, I only think of trim being semi-gloss white - maybe I need to think outside the box. Because our space is using three colors in total (SW Latte on some other walls), I purchased a quart of each and applied them side-by-side in several areas to see their effect throughout the day and under artificial light. I know you are restricting yourself to a single color but you might want to invest a few $$$'s and try a similar test because your new residence will have different lighting conditions than your prior home. We're just DIY'ers and need to teach ourselves when taking on projects that pros already have experienced. We like the colors you are considering and am confident you will be pleased with the finished look. Good luck....See MoreJAN MOYER
