Comments (16)Center the rug with the fireplace. Take the bookcase out of the left corner of the room and put that in the space between the kitchen and FR, where the console table now sits. Move the sectional down toward the fireplace, (after centering the rug), add an end table to the outside of the chaise part of the sectional. Someone sitting there wonâÂÂt want to move to get a drink off the coffee table. Be sure there is a lamp there as well, to light that corner of the room. Move the armoire to angle in the corner where the sectional was sitting originally. Use it for storage, perhaps add shelving or even a pull-out shelf for a computer center which can be closed up and put away. The piece is very nice, and gives good height to balance the fireplace and high ceilings. For now, try the console on the wall to the right of the fireplace, and place the new flatscreen on that. Later you may prefer a more substanial cabinet, which can hide other components and store DVDs, etc. If you do that, then try the console table behind the part of the sectional that has its back to the kitchen. Add a comfy upholstered chair in the corner, a bit closer to the fireplace, where the armoire was, along with another small side table and lamp....See MoreNeed help decorating my family room
Comments (19)I would suggest a slightly larger glass and metal rectangular coffee table to give this room more sophistication and lightness. There is some blue in the painting and I'd use that, rather than the orange for pillows on the furniture. You can also use blue and white since you have a white area rug. You have a gorgeous kitchen and dining area. Take all the pictures and clutter off the TV console and around the bottom of the fireplace. Have just a very few well-thought-out pieces on the mantel under the picture, nothing else. You do need a much larger console for the TV, but please don't use that area for family photographs. You could have a small table next to the chair by the window after you've cleaned up that area, and a have a few photos there in silver-colored frames, not wood. I see TV wires hanging down and that needs to be fixed. Unless you need the privacy and light control I'm not sure I would cover up these windows....See MoreNeed help with family room curtains and decorating advice.

Comments (25)I vote for keeping the pine as an accent wall. While looking at the comments on your pine wall, an ad came up for Ted's Vintage Art Prints - https://tedsvintageart.com/ . I think two or three of these ( maybe 24"x36") would look good on your wall. You could frame them or mount them on foam core. I would take out the fluorescent lights and add interesting floor lamps. Get a bigger stylish clock and hang a little lower....See MoreCelery. Visualization, Rendering images
