Coating smoke-roasted nuts with salt

I love smokehouse almonds but they're pricy and sometimes hard to find. I decided to make my own and found this recipe below. They're great and I get a lot of compliments. However the only issue is that the salt doesn't stick to the nuts with a nice even coating. It's a bit lumpy and uneven. What can I do to get a better salt coating on the nuts?

(5lb bag) Yield 9 cups

----------------------------------------------------------------------

1/2 cup cooking oil

5 lbs (9 cups) whole almonds w/skin

3 tbs Liquid Smoke

6 tbs (or 1/4cup + 2 tbs) All-Purpose Flour

3 tbs Sea Salt

DIRECTIONS---------------------------------------------------------

Pour cooking oil over almonds in a bowl, tossing to coat well.

Spread on ungreased baking sheets.

Bake at 275 degrees for 45 minutes.

Remove from oven and put back into bowl.

Sprinkle with Liquid Smoke, tossing to coat well.

Mix Flour and Salt in a cup.

Sprinkle flour/salt mixture over almonds., tossing to coat well.

Spread on same baking sheets.

Bake at 275 for 20 more minutes.

Cool & Serve! (Store almonds in refrigerator for best preservation).
