Blue Pearl Granite & Black and Gray Glass tile back splash too mu
Comments (25)oh mayflowers forgot to say that I like the idea of adding cabinets to back of peninsula area but was also thinking of having two backless bar stools with black leather seats there as well. Will have to think about the wainscoating and now that I look closely the area could use an update and it is scuffed up. the more we look the more we see that needs help with this house Ugh thanks so much Here is the living room, my carpenter is fashioning a pine wood free floating mantle as we speak, it will have oil on it and natural tones. We have sofa facing the fireplace that's a thin cordoroy material in a light blue/green and plan to have an accent chair against the other wall (the staircase wall) with perhaps some type of server or china cabinet over there, dining area is too small for china cabinet but might be able to have a behind the sofa credenza (for more storage) we also plan to have an area rug in front of the sofa. I am looking for a gray one with texture if I can find one. what do you think of those ideas? Right now the dining area has a work table we're using till we find what we want lol...See MoreVery light blue or gray subway tile in glass?
Comments (13)I think Ann Sacks will send samples. I'm lucky enough to have a showroom here in Dallas and I went down and got some but then I wanted some other colors and the sales person offered to have them Fed Ex'd to me but I drove down and got them. I would definitely call the showroom nearest you. Once I had the samples and the email address for the rep, we did all the buying via online docs and then they just shipped directly from their warehouse to us. We bought twice, first time enough to do some boards and second time enough to do backsplash. The big load came freight as LTL (less than a load) which is pretty standard for stuff like that and they sent a bob cat truck with a pallet dolly to bring them to the house. Painless buying experience, tile was packed perfectly and I think of all the tile we bought, one had a tiny chip. Shipping was not cheap but I don't think it was out of line for any kind of heavy purchase like that....See MoreBacksplash--would you tire of a pale blue 3x6 subway glass BS?
Comments (19)I think you should go for it. I think that a big hangup is cost. With tile it is 1. costly, and 2. A big ordeal to replace. But, when talking about using a paint color that is a little outside the box, people say, "oh, it's only paint, so pick a color you love and change it down the road if you want". However, let's be real people....paint is not cheap. Not if you buy expensive paint, equipment, or hire someone to do it for you. And just because it is expensive, it doesn't mean you probably won't change your mind and repaint at some point. I think most of us with a tile backsplash would be less likely to change it out because we remember the cost, but do we remember how much that paint job cost 8 years ago? Probably not, therefore we would repaint but not retile. So, if you love that blue tile and live with it for many years and for some reason you hate it in 10 or so years, rip it down and replace it. And by the way, orange goes very nicely with blue. :)...See MoreWhite tile with Blue Glass Accent--how to Carry Blue into the MB
Comments (4)You can look for blue glass jars for q-tips and other toiletries and a tray for setting down wet objects on the vanity. Your idea of using the glass tiles to frame a mirror could look nice, especially since those are interesting, swirly colored glass tiles and they a re not small squares. What size are your glass tiles? Maybe going to a glass shop with the size you want for your mirror will give you some ideas on how to do it. They may have some idea whether to put the mirror and tiles on some kind of backer board versus applying the tile to the wall after the mirror is hung....See Morekl34
