So the pellet stove went on. It's been running non stop since then:
I told DH I could keep the fireplace stoked and burning but he said that sucks cold air into the house so we didn't bother.

Comments (17)It's hard to pick a favorite picture of Teddy. But I picked one that to me epitomized his life on the farm when I owned him. He had a large pasture filled with friends and food. He loved it there. The other pictures were a cool capture of how much horses love to roll! :) Did anyone who ever had a horse hear the saying about a horse being worth $1,000 every roll they completed? So rolling back and forth several times meant they were worth several thousand dollars? After dating for about 1 1/2 years while DH was doing his medical school internship in Michigan, he graduated and accepted a position as a family practice physician in Albuquerque. That October he invited me to come out and see New Mexico. We had a hospital staff Halloween party to go to then, so Mom and I designed and made Merlin and Morgana’s costumes for us both. It was wonderful to see my love again, to see some of this beautiful New Mexico, and to attend the party. Our costumes were a great hit! Mom and I had made a great silver skull cap for him and he glued on a very realistic dark beard on piece by piece. a good disguise as he had light blond hair! I'm in denial, too, Elizabeth. This is from a beautiful summer day in the woods. Found heart - we didn't scar a tree although my DH puts hearts somewhere on everything he paints for me. Even have one in the concrete skirt in front of the garage. He's a good guy.
7 years agoI adjusted my thermostat from 68° to 71° because I am not working today and therefore will be at home. I'll probably turn it down to 70° later. As you can see, the humidity outdoors is 77% this morning, and it is expected to rain midday.

My Christmas present to me. A Liberty 496 piece wood puzzle finished this morning. It is truly amazing how all those intricate pieces fit so perfectly together. Hmmm, not long till my birthday, may have to get me another gift.
7 years agoFortunately, we are only going to need this type of cover in my area, for a rainy storm. The rest of you stay as safe and warm as you can.

I'm having trouble keeping up with all of the downed limbs this year. I had them all cleaned up a few weeks ago and then 2 more storms and I have more now than what I started the winter with.

My brother went to graduate school at SUNY Albany for his MFA, and this is a painting he did of "Olana", from the Hudson River Valley:
This is watercolor, but he's done a lot of abstract paintings in acrylic as well, and I have two of those (very large) in my bedroom. He destroyed a lot of his early abstract paintings, and I was upset about that because I liked them. He's gone back to including abstracts in his painting, however.
