L shaped island 8x7 Seam or no seam?

J T

We are partially redoing our kitchen and adding to our island which is currently 8 feet long on one side by foot deep (with some of that as an overhang for barstools) it currently has a small L that turns and ends into the fridge. We’re moving the fridge and opening the wall between the dining and kitchen. We will get new stone and extend the cabinets to make the island 8’x4’ on one side of the L and 7’x3’. We found a quartzite slab we like but it’s only 123 in by 71in. So my question is, do we shorten the new side of the island to be 71 in (or just under 6 feet) to avoid a seam. Or do we keep the island longer and have a seam? I like the idea of the island being more balanced. My husband hates the idea of a seam. Here are the current and as drawn plans with the 7foot new island addition. Any thoughts are appreciated!
