I like the darker one too. The tones seem less creamy and more silver to work with your cabs and paint.

The darker countertop, along with perhaps matching dark cabinet hardware would look awesome! Good luck! Love shaker cabinets, so clean and modern.

The first granite = cool tones in gray. From 10 feet away, it will look cold/light gray. The second granite has beige in it. In fact it might even have hints of peach/bronze hues. A large slab from 10ft away will have a beige or warm tone to it.

The images you are seeing of the second granite are showing it's TRUE colours. I would HAPPILY pair the second granite with the floors posted above. They are an excellent compliment. You will produce a warm/neutral palette. It will still be neutral...but it will prefer the warm tones of golds/browns/oranges, etc for the space.

These are pics of the actual slabs we saw when choosing samples. Of course, I have to go back to choose the slabs once we decide on a color, but this is what was there that day. Again, the dark colors in each look bolder in pictures than in person.

I'm new to this site, so I'm not sure how to reply to a specific person. SJ McCarthy thank you for the info and advice. You are right; the second sample or first slab pic above does appear more beige in person. I guess that is why I'm torn because I don't want it to feel cold, but I also really wanted to avoid a brown/beige tone, which means I may need to look at a different floor choice. I was just hoping that the gray walls and gray countertops may bring out more of the gray and white in the floors than the beige. I'm just not a fan of mixing bright white cabinets and beige tops; it seems to dull the crispness of the white to me if that makes sense. Do you think if I use the lighter counter, I can still avoid pulling too much beige? I may need to look at different granite options altogether.

I think there are better options for flooring. Something with a little more gray tone or mixed up. The one you posted looks pinkish to me.

In researching granite options today, I came across Dallas White, which I think might be the answer between the two above. From what I've read (I need to go look at the slab in person), it is similar to the Ornamental above, but may have more contrast and show up a bit more white than beigy. However, it isn't as dark overall as the White Primata. Just sharing in case anyone is familiar with Dallas White and might think it is a better option or have example pics of it on white cabinets. Again, I really appreciate everyone who has taken the time to help with this! Seems like such a huge decision to make at the moment! :) Just a note, after looking closer and taking your comments into consideration, I'm definitely open to going with a different flooring option; however, I have to get countertops in first and then focus on flooring and a backsplash!

I'm glad you are holding off on the flooring. I think any of the counters you mentioned would look nice, they would just be different looks. Once you found your slab, you can start finding flooring that looks good with it (same color tone, not too busy, etc.)
