wood island top - should it match the wood floor color?
Comments (16)I have had wood island countertops in 2 kitchens now and love them. I would only use John Boos Hard Rock Maple with the oiled finish. It is super easy upkeep, and allows you to cut right on the countertop. The oiled finish is just an easy rub in/ rub off application. Post your plan....See MoreShould I remove crown molding and/or paint ceiling and walls to match?

If you have the budget to remove moulding then do it, but if you can use the funds for other projects than I'd paint room and leave the trim. Once the room is decorating you probably won't even notice it....See MoreJennifer H
