Comments (11)Technically a *traditional centerhall colonial would be pretty unlikely to have a two story foyer: the stairwell might be open, but the entry to the front bedrooms would be at the front of the house ( above the front door ) and any ornamental window above the entry door would be in the upper stair hall. Unless the hall is large and gracefully proportioned, the two story foyer often ends up as an awkward toaster slot of a space that is hard to decorate with a window that is hard to treat and clean, and corners filled with cobwebs. imo....See Morelighting for tiny 4' x 7' two-story foyer with dormer

The bamboo style is lovely but the one you have won’t have long enough wire so a new one is in order. What style furnishings do you have? House looks very traditional. Comments (23)for heaven sake, six months after completion this light will just be passed by as you go up and down the stairs! You cant really look at a light fixture as you go up or down stairs because you have to look where you are going, for the most part people will look at this from the ground floor dont get too hung up on the 4 points. I would point out that the can lights will have a cut off where the light reaches and the light fixture will cause major shadows, so the balance of wall sconces will be good....See MoreLauren Jacobsen Interior Design
