Comments (18)I like that mock-up. That looks great Rebunky. I just made a "Globe Pendant" IdeaBook on Houzz hoping to find an island Erica's size & specific globe pendants sizes. So frustrating, as either the island size wasn't listed or the pendant size wasn't listed. While I was doing that, you made that great mock-up. I really like the two pics of the black island kitchen you posted earlier and the mock-up looks very much like that size & spacing. Comments (65)@Porter, I didn't get the LED Edison bulbs yet-the store where we got the pendants gave me 3 halogen bulbs to see if it was better for me as I didn't like the yellow light at all. I am still going to order them when I do a Prime order to see the difference. That fixture is in a nook--off centered from the pendants--it comes with a chain ;however I am undecided if a table is going to go there or it will stay open, so had it semi-flush mounted. Does it look odd or out of place? @Beth, Right now they are 34" so when the quartz is installed, it should be about 32 33" from counter to bottom of lights. Comments (26)Thank you all so much for your thoughts. I do need to keep the sideboard where it is. However, I forgot to mention that I will be painting it the same colour as the wall, and will be back painting the glass in the doors to hided the stuff inside. The room will look less cramped and busy. I tried moving the table to be centered under the light, and taking away the end chairs to do so. It looks quite crammed down at one end of the area when I do that. So I don't think I will do that. In reading your comments, I am reminded that I need to keep access to the current location (per my original electrician). So I will need to cover with an electrical plate, and not patch it to cover over. I think I will pay to have it moved in order to keep the simple, clean minimalist lines of the light fixture....See MoreNeed to install pendant light but how do we fix this?

If we remove it (and we need to because I don't trust this situation), patch it, etc. does that mean that the entire kitchen and great room ceiling will have to be painted? Do you paint a textured ceiling or do they have to "texture" the entire two rooms again? This house is 20 years old and nothing has been maintained. I did like cat_ky idea of maybe putting a ceiling medallion. I wonder if they make square ones - I will look that up. She has to have an electrician come and check everything. The owner has weird electrical wiring ALL over this house especially the basement. None of the outlets in the basement work. He sheetrocked in the WATER SHUT OFF VALVE when he finished the basement himself... Oh my.......See Morejgehling
