Siding Color with Brick

I'm stuck. We are adding a two-story addition to the back of the house (not really visible from the front) but a dormer window in the front with siding. We have to pick our siding color, and I don't love any of them. We can't afford a custom color, and we can't afford to swap out the white windows. Hearthstone and suede are what was done by neighbors, and I know you should do what you love, but the running joke is that our contractor only does additions with those beige-y colors Any suggestions for something different? I know it is hard to tell colors from a picture like this... Am I insane to consider something as dark as slate?

I think Glacier Blend. I do not think Slate is a bad idea but I am concerned how it might look on the dormer facing front. Can you get a larger sample of the color you think you might want?

I love the slate. or the midnight blue. or even the Autumn red.

No way on earth I'd pair anything beige w/your red brick!

the dark colors would set off the brick beautifully. or is the siding just going in the back, and not against the brick? Either way, I like the darker colors.

But, you also need to give those trees a good pruning and spruce up the flower beds.

Hi; We used BM Rockport Grey (or is it Gray ???) with white trim and a patent black front door and I love it! We have "regular" brick as pillars (? not sure what to call them) around our garage bays and think this color looks just teriffic. One of my favorites is Powell Buff by Benjamin Moore. And it is shown on the BM website as having brown as an accent color. Do not go by the computer color on their website. It looks peachy and it's absolutely not. It's in their historical colors.

SW calls this Connected Grey a 'green grey'. SW Greenblack shutters and garage door, SW Brick Paver door. I don't think the garage door in black looks the best but the Connected Grey didn't look good either.

emmarene9 is right Glacier Blend for your more traditional style home. If it was a more urban, or industrial style home the slate would work.

What color is your front door? I think midnight blue or slate would look great with the brick

emmarene9... I agree - working on getting a larger sample. I'm attaching a picture of the front dormer - we could do small cedar looking siding in the colors too and maybe that would be less drastic compared with vinyl?

BethH - thank you! The bushes/flowers were first year and have grown in to be more of a butterfly garden now though I do think we need to do something with the trees. The beige the neighbors has seems to match the mortar of the brick, so I actually don't mind it. I had considered pacific blue too or the midnight blue!

Rawketgrl - Good point about slate being more industrial! Thanks :)

CLC - the color of the door now is actually navy, but I photoshopped a black one in the picture above because I like the door style better. Ours is very dated, so I'm open to any front door colors.

The roof color can change as well because it will all be replaced... though I feel like it should match the garage (separate structure) for the most part. As you can tell, I'm quite conflicted. Your feedback helps immensely. I appreciate you taking the time to write!!!

Are your windows currently white? They appear to be photoshopped, too?

Find out if you can use a different siding for the dormer. That way you do the back in any color you like.

I hope you will reconsider adding the peak above the entrance. I much prefer it as it is now.
